Review Salt - Merrick

Great water front views and an expansive deck with lots of outdoor seating. Salt offers a comfortable atmosphere with great food and drinks. The calamari, mussels, and oysters were all great starters. For the main course, the short ribs and seafood pasta were great selections. Our waiter was Anthony, who handled our group of 9 with ease. Salt does get very crowded, so make reservations to secure your outdoor seating.

My first time here. Celebrated my birthday with great friends. Outside seating was perfect! Our waitress was very friendly and attentive. We had the tuna tacos and fried vegetables for appetizers , and they were delicious! I also had a tuna bowl which was amazing! Would be nice to have a few more healthy choices for appetizers. The sliders were great too! Looking forward to going back.

Great location that gets quite crowded when the weather is nice as most seating is outside by the water. I took a friend out for dinner here at their request. The menu cators to most with a mix of mostly seafood and other land selections. We started with a dozen raw oysters, $38 that were very good, even though one was tiny, and they should have included another to make up for it. But they tasted great. I had asked my waiter if the Halibut on the menu was good, and she wholeheartedly recommended it as her favorite dish there. When it arrived, it looked amazing, but it was clearly a previously frozen fish that was hard and dry. It was as if it were left on a warming table too long. The mixed veggies in a nice clear sauce helped to moisten it up as did a requested cup of drawn butter. To be fair, when the waiter finally came back to check, I had already eaten half when I was offered another. But I refused to have them bring another. This was my friend's night out, and I did not want to delay our meal. In any case, the hot lobster roll $43 was well liked by my guest. This is a popular place and I can see why with its nicely presented food and atmosphere outside. I am not sure I would oder fish here, but I might consider something else if I find myself in this area again.

Really fabulous place on the water. Lively, friendly service, great atmosphere, fantastic views..we ate inside because rain was on its way and it was lunchtime. It still was so pleasant next to the sliding doors with the breeze and the view. Now the food was excellent..I had fish tacos so tasty and so many! My companion had the poke bowl they are still taking about it and especially the dessert a lemon pound cake with ice cream and whipped cream strawberries etc just so refreshing and delicious on the hot day we were there...I can't wait to go back and for dinner this time

We enjoyed a wonderful anniversary lunch here at Salt. Beautiful waterfront table, with delicious food, great service and great atmosphere. Would definitely recommend. Our server Arielle was super nice, and we got a dessert on the house, which was thoughtful! Thank you for a special anniversary meal!

Great seafood restaurant by the ocean. Highly recommend the Day Boat Scallops. However, everything ordered was fantastic! Save room for the dessert if you can...

Honestly would’ve given three stars if it wasn’t for our server Chris, he seemed to be the most attentive and accommodating. Our drinks took 20 minutes to come out (He told us it was taking longer than usual), our food even longer. One of my friends ordered the clam chowder and it was extremely watery. The sever took it off our bill without a question. My “martini” was served in a snifter glass and the chili flakes that were supposed to be on the rim were just sitting my drink, a bit odd. We sat with dirty appetizers plates right up until our food came, at a small table when there was 5 of us. The pasta dish featured here is what saved the night, the kitchen let me substitute the shrimp for lobster for $10 more, sold. The owner also did come up to our table and seemed very friendly. We live far away so it’s probably not something we would travel back for, but it was good for what we got!

My wife and I like to take family and friends to Salt for special occasions. We love sitting outside and enjoying our food and looking at all the boats go by. Truly a most relaxing restaurant.

My friends and I had such an amazing time at Salt this weekend. Our server Gianna was so sweet and accommodating she really made our experience 5-star worthy. Everything we ordered was delicious. The watermelon and feta appetizer was balanced perfectly and the watermelon was SO juicy. Gianna suggested the Seafood Risotto and we weren’t disappointed! The warm lobster roll with butter was fresh and delicious, and the french fries were super crispy. I know they’re known for being very busy especially on the weekends, but we went a little earlier than normal dinner rush and had no problem being seated inside. The view of the water can be seen from inside and outside seating! I definitely recommend coming here if you’re in the mood for some great seafood and amazing service!
