The Sushi Shokunin, or chef, Fuji'san made amazing Sushis for me which are fresh, herty, originally and speachless taste ! I have never tasted such a wonderful Sushi in my over 50 years life. Unless you eat his sushi, you must regret a life time!

Great sushi... that's probably the most important thing... but the owner Greg is a GREAT foodie to chat up for local restaurant recommendations and such. Frequently he throws interesting cooked food on the specials as well as unusual fish.. last night I had some miso pork along with the sushi, it was fantastic. There isn't ANYTHING close on the Island... and although I think you can get great sushi at a few places in Seattle and Bellevue, the friendly get to know you service at Sushi Joa puts it on top for me. If you don't live on the Island it's WELL worth the drive, and if you do.. .why are you still reading?? Get over there!!

Awesome sushi chef Gio and Carlos were serving us at sushi bar. Good little neighborhood sushi restaurant in Mercer island. Fried oysters were good. Bento, chirashi and my sashimi omakase was all fresh and yummy. Fatty tuna was very good that night. Melts in your mouth :) next time you are at Mercer island and crave for some sushi, go try sushi Joa

A neighborhood sushi with good quality ingredients and friendly staff. Wednesday are my favorite day to visit it. I like the cut of the fish and the quality of their rice

I tried several Sushi restaurants in Seattle including high-end to local places. I’ve also had many great sushi in Japan. This place serves pretty good sushi in my standard. Staff is always friendly too. I definitely recommend this restaurant.

Sushi Joa is a local Mercer Island Japanese restaurant that has tons of options at a great price, surprisingly for Mercer Island. The staff here is always friendly and everything is made fresh to order. They put a lot of time and effort into the food as well, so its delicious, although you should always call ahead and order since the wait can be 30 minutes (since they are quite popular as well). Would highly recommend the bento box as it's a mix of everything for a great price.

Always went to gourmet teriyaki but they close so early so we tried this place…. And WOW. Totally surprised us. The yakisoba was so good and the ride bowls were also delicious. Will definitely coming back here to try more. They also bring your takeout order to your car, very nice.
