Three Little Pigs Bar-B-Q located on Quince Avenue is a small, typical Memphis bbq joint; a simple, down-home diner filled with pig memorabilia. They were busy when we were there, but the service was fast and cordial. The tangy Blue Plate bbq sauce they served us, has become a classic in Memphis and can be found in many bbq joints here. It’s the same sauce you’ll find at Tops BBQ, Brad’s, Showboat, and others. It has a sour pickle taste that works particularly well with pork shoulder. In fact, bits of pickle can be noticed in the sauce. The meat was chopped, “dirty” (with at least some bits of crisp bark mixed in), slightly smoky and was complimented by the sauce and slaw. Ribs weren’t available, but they did have a decent bbq sandwich along with other standard southern fare, such as fried catfish. I hate to play the wolf here, but Three Little Pigs was similar to Tops BBQ, only not as good. Tops has had better smoke flavor for me. Although I’d rather have Tops, if I were near Quince, I’d have no problem grabbing a bbq sandwich from Three Little Pigs Bar-B-Q.
The pulled pork sandwich is good, and they give you a generous amount of meat on the sandwich. It's a good choice for a fast, and relatively inexpensive, meal that is still representative of traditional Memphis BBQ. The restaurant is nothing fancy, but it was clean and the employees were friendly and efficient. The French fries are awesome.
Breakfast review only:
I guess I've had their BBQ, but it's been a long while. Usually in here at breakfast time a few times a year, while my mattress pad spins in the triple washer next door at the laundromat. Affordable & standard fare here, w/ booth seating & counter service. The biscuits are pretty good, & country ham is offered along w/ bacon & sausage. The latter is not too good, while the country ham has a good taste but is often overcooked. The star of my platter is the fried eggs I order over medium, & they are cooked perfectly. Reliable & quality breakfasts made to order & fast.
A long standing place for good BBQ and a very good hamburger. I also recently tried their double hot dog and was pleasantly surprised. While it's on a hamburger bun it's cooked on the flat top grill and tasty. It comes with whatever you like, I had slaw and onions and then cut it in half and it was like having 2 hotdogs. I recommend anyone in the area to give this local place a try.
The bbq is good but the breakfast is just ok. It is not Bryant's.
Sure, Its a Nice Lunch. 1. Not enough sauce
2. The cashiers a bitch
But i still go back
GREAT barbque!!!! Nice little restraunt in east Memphis! Not to worry if you or kids don't like barbque, they have amazing cheeseburgers, hot dogs, frenchfries even shaved ice for a hot summer day
Good food, Good value.. After reading the "I love Memphis" Breakfast Bracket blog I decided to try breakfast at Three Little Pig's. I ordered the "Big Breakfast" and added a side of bacon. I was surprised when my order came out. A lot of food for a little money. 3 eggs cooked perfectly over easy, 3 pieces of good sausage, 2 fresh biscuits, grits and a side of bacon. I can't believe I ate the whole thing! But I did it was just that good.
I was so impressed with the breakfast I went back to try their barbecue. I had a jumbo sandwich plate that was served with beans, slaw and fries. Again a lot of food for little money. The sandwich was loaded with very lean and smokey pulled pork. I asked for spicy sauce and it actually had some bite to it. The sides were very good as well.
The slaw was fresh, the beans were in a thick tasty sauce with lots of pork bits mixed in. The fries were crisp and hot.
I have known of Three Little Pig's for years, but I just did not expect much from it. I was wrong. This place serves up some really fine fare at really fair price.
Hey, it's been at this location over 20 years it must be doing things right. I'm a new fan. Try it and I bet you will be too.
I liked it. I got breakfast but it still wasn't the best. it was ok though. Not my favorite but ok.
Wunnerful Wunnerful!. This is truly one of the best BBQ places in Memphis. What a friendly staff. It's places like this that treat their employees like family that make you feel welcomed and return to give them your business. BBQ is delicious as well as their slaw and beans. Such a variety on their menu and their breakfast is delicious to. I live in the neighborhood and I'm glad I did because this is the place that your children want to have memories of coming to eat with their parents.
Breakfast was very delicious. Everything cooked perfectly. I got a Turkey Leg for later and it was one of the best I have ever eaten. The 'Memphis' sauce is a must on it. The morning cook was a great guy. A soon to be entrepreneur. Go for it.✝️♥️🙏
Discovered this great place while passing through Memphis. I was looking for a local breakfast spot, and Three Little Pigs did not disappoint! I ordered the Big Breakfast because I thought I was really hungry... turns out it was much more food than I imagined. I did add a side of gravy to dip my biscuit in because I couldn't pass up the grits. The food was great, and the atmosphere was just what I was looking for. The staff was fantastic and friendly, and you could tell they have a lot of repeat customers because of their conversations with the customers in the diner. Definitely will go back when visiting!
A Mom & Pop BBQ place worthy of driving across town for. The Jumbo sandwich plate comes with 3 sides and the $5 lunch special that my partner had get just one side. Excellent BBQ and sauce. French Fries are the right combination of crispy and tender. The beans have just a little BBQ meat in them and the slaw is one of those that’s good on the sandwich or as a stand alone. And in true fashion for a bBQ sandwich, the meat is falling off the bun. Enjoy.
What a gem. Great service, food, and spotlessly clean dining room. The woman cleaning was so nice and welcoming when we arrived and busied herself wiping tables, sweeping the floor, and cleaning windows. I had the pulled pork sandwich with extra sauce and it was excellent. Can't tell if it had pickle relish inside or some mystery flavor ingredient? The beans were wonderful and the cole slaw was quite good. They have Dr Pepper and Coke fountain drinks. My daughter enjoyed her cheeseburger which was quite large. Would go again!
Went inside the restaurant to place my order. The staff were friendly and nice. My food was hot when I received it and it only took about 10 minutes for them to give me my order. I ordered the Regular BBQ plate and my son had the cheeseburger combo (no pic).
Teaaaaa time tea time get you some sweet tea babies. Three little Pigs bar wow my co worker put me own near his house. Y'all let me tell you they have good service and food and friendly sit down areas were it don't matter what color you are you are welcome here. If y'all never been here go go go. Now I won't give you no plane tea talk. But be warned they be busy some days. Gogo go
While staying at the Doubltree, we were told to try Three Little Pigs while we did a load of laundry. The front desk called it a "hidden gem" and "a great hole in the wall". It was said with love and we tried it out. The MEAT fell off the bones...no sauce needed!! We will go back before heading back to Georgia!!
The servings are getting smaller, but it’s really good! The people are friendly and the service is good. I had the sandwich platter with a large drink. Just under $11. Next time I’ll get the sandwich only.
Hey now, my wife is a regular there for the family. She loves it and so do we! Highly recommend everyone to just try it once and see for yourself. Thank you, God Bless!
Got a bbq sandwich & had hushpuppies for the first time. Fast service, & the food was great. I had no idea my drink would be so large lol
