Went in for my boyfriend's birthday. The restaurant was clean and quiet. Our waitress was nice and helpful. I got the spicy tuna salad appetizer. It was good. We got 6 sushi rolls. Pretty good. Had to ask for no sesame seeds, and it was not a problem.

I found Sakura around 10 years ago and to date no sushi compares. Before Sakura I tried damn near every place from midtown to Cordova. I moved in 2013 and I can't even buy sushi because the flavor combinations pale in comparison. Every time I come in town I go to Sakura at least once to get a Joyce roll and a Mother roll. DIVINE! If I lived within two and a half hours I'd absolutely drive to get it. Best sushi in Memphis, hands down!!

So this place is fanastic. We went here after the cherry blossom festival at the botanical garden's food trucks ran out of food (lame).
We started of with spirits, we had the hana awaka sake, it was sweet, smooth, and chilled. It didn't taste like alcohol at all (7%).
I also had the Santory whisky, it had a powerful whisky flavor with a much smoother sensations and only a bit of warmth when it gets to the stomach.
Next we had appetizers, tempura chicken meal came with a house salad and soup, i paid additional for the seafood soup and it did not disappoint. I highly recommend the salad with the ginger dressing its sweet and not overpowering. We also had gyoza and yakitori both were very good but the yakitori won out.
Our main courses arrived and had wonderful presentation. My tempura chicken with fried veggies was a little underwhelming but it isn't something I normally order in the first place. My wife's ramen was delicious and was more food than she could handle.
For dessert the waitress brought us the menu where we picked strawberry icecream with lychee jelly. It was more or less like boba. The flavor was spot on though it was like concentrated lychee.
All in all i give it 5/5 hands down.

This Japanese restaurant is so beautiful. And as my daughter was singing this, what imagine dragons would say “ oh how I wish that you were here” there is something for everyone, pork mien for my dad, Raman for me, sushi for my kids, rice for our little vegetarian. It’s also so close to other shops, it’s just so perfectly situated

Wonderful, peaceful, and fun place to eat. The chef tried his best to make the kids smile and have fun too especially our youngest. Amazing food and fair priced for dinner and a show. Hard not to get full on the soup and salad alone but they make sure to fill your entire plates I just wish I had taken a picture of the dinner plate and a video of all his spiffy tricks.

Really good sushi and friendly staff! I’ve been here 3 times in the last two weeks and there sushi and customer service keeps me coming back. The Big Time sushi roll is my favorite and the whole fried soft shell crab is really good!

Love the Sakura roll. The bento lunch box with salmon is always a great choice. The ginger dressing is phenomenal. Service great, clean beautiful ambiance love it!

Absolutely fantastic sushi, my favorite in Memphis. Unique, interesting rolls. The staff is so friendly and always makes me feel welcome. Relaxed environment with booth and table seating, one of my top choices for a laid back date night. Also kids-friendly. My to-go orders are always fresh and correct.

We went last night to this location. It was busy so we knew it would take a bit. No worries. Well we ordered our food and my kids, me and my father in law got our food not long after we ordered but my husband didn't get his food till we were almost done with ours. We had to get another waiters attention because we didn't see our waiter that much. Well that waiter asked my husband did he know what he ordered? So he told the waiter yes and said what he ordered. The waiter went and checked and said they were backed up in the kitchen. He said that's fine but when your family has their food and I don't have mine and still waiting after a hour its not ok. The waiter said he was sorry and said he would be back. Our waiter came about ten mins later with his food and said I'm sorry here is your food. We had to again remind our waiter that he was still waiting on his sushi. Our waiter was like oh ok I will go check on that. He brought it back and left. By that time everyone is done but him. So we are waiting for him to eat after a hour an a half of waiting for his food. We won't be back to this sakura's. We will go back to the one on west street like we have been doing over the years.
