Review The Sear Shack Burgers And Fries - Memphis

Great burger with nice signature sauce. Didn’t like the bun so much, I feel it takes all of the taste and so big. The fries is good but not the cheese fries. I just prefer shredded cheese instead of melted. Definitely will come back.

Ordered the Single cheesburger with everything.... Very good Hamburger with hot fries everything was made fresh!!! Fast and friendly service. Nice place to grab a quick bite at a fair price. Would definitely recommend instead of a fast food burger joint.

Was in the area and stopped for a burger and would have to say this is by far the best I've had in Memphis so far! The burger was cooked perfectly and the seat sauce is a must! Also if you're contemplating the bacon cheese fries, definitely do it!

I always enjoy myself every time I get a burger from here. Fresh ingredients, hot food and great tasting shakes.

Favorite burger place! The fries are really good and the burgers are always juicy. One problem is that it is 94 degrees outside and it felt almost the same inside 😅

Great burgers and fresh-cut french fries. The complimentary, housemade pickles are a nice added touch.

The burgers here are always hot and juicy as they are made to order. Love the sear sauce! However, two trips in a row fries were either cold and burned or just cold. This time I took them back and they delivered hot fries to my table! Yummy! What great customer service! Shame on me for not saying anything the time before. I'm glad we went back. Will continue to be a patron and recommend them to others.

I love their burger. I always go for either single or double with bacon and cheese. Although the patty is thin and well cooked, it has enough tenderness and the taste. I'd love to see them serve beer though😂 So now my choices for burger are here or the Belmont!

It's a simple, cozy hangout spot with good simple burgers. Honestly, the simple menu is great for indecisive people. If you're expecting finer dining in terms of a medium rare, this isn't it. Good food and good people, what more could you ask for? Ingredients-wise: very simple, but fresh; no complaints. The fries are hand cut too. Super good. Not overwhelmingly salted or under-salted. Best to dip in ketchup+hot sauce+Sriracha and their "sear sauce." Highly recommend putting the sear sauce on the patties, ask for cups of it as a side, then go wild. Buns are fluffy and the texture doesn't compromise the overall burger. Some buns are too hard bread-y and toasted sounds nice but that's a toast sandwich you want and not a burger at this point. Some people might complain that the patties are too flat or burnt, but if they're burnt, just kindly speak to the staff and say it's burnt. If it's "too flat" but you've topped the burger with everything, then really it's not the burger. The staff at this location seem very nice. They're clean and carry a good vibe/atmosphere to them. They're a simple burger joint that doesn't compromise one thing for another. They don't pretend to be something they're not. You really get what you see and for some people, that's exactly what we want.

Decent burgers and decent fries. Limited menu items...

Burgers are good . a very simple thin patty well seasoned. Great buns. Good fries. Very clean. i gave it 4 instead of 5 for 2 reasons. 1 Limited toppings. 2 A bit pricey. Will go back.

Great burgers really fresh. A real simple place to eat you get a burger and that's it none of that staring at the menu for days while the line forms out of the door and your still trying to decide if you want but everyone else in line is ready to kick you out. Any way it's really good.

The food is good, however not as good as the pricing would suggest. Either the quality needs to be improved or the prices reduced. The fries are very good and the sear sauce is amazing. The shakes are also very good. We will be back, just not too often as the pricing is off.

Went here for the first time yesterday and was surprised to find this gem. The burgers taste like homemade, THICKER versions of freddy's steakburgers (try their sear sauce, it's delicious and perfect for burgers). The fries are hand cut, similar to fiveguys, delicious and fresh. Would definitely return for more!

Good burgers. A little pricey. Wish they had more cheese options. "American Cheese" is processed and industrial seed oil based junk. I'd much prefer real Cheddar or Pepper Jack. Otherwise, good option for LCHF/Keto if you omit the bun and skip the fries.

Very minimalist type of place, but If you want a very tasty fresh burger, hand curb fries and an awesome shake, this is your place!

Staffed by young kids who have always been polite and attentive the couple of times I’ve been there.

Only downside the aforementioned order in double burger format will set you back $17 and change. It’s a $5 shake, and no, they don’t put bourbon in it or anything.

I read about the Sear Shack opening awhile back, but when I got to the Collierville part, my eyes glazed over and I forgot about it. Then Holly over at I Love Memphis did a write up on the new East Memphis location last week, and I paid more attention. I texted Satchel (age 14) on Saturday to begin negotiations. (I'm the blue, in case it is not obvious.)

I was very impressed with this place. The interior is minimal but very clean. We approach the counter to order and the young man at the register was so polite and eager to make sure we got just what we wanted. I was taken aback. It is rare to find service this good. The menu is simply Burgers and Fries. They reportedly have great milkshakes though we didn't try one.My companion ordered a single cheeseburger with fries. I ordered a double. Wow! You need to have a huge appetite to attempt a double. Everything about the burgers was excellent. The patties were "Seared" to perfection and juicy not greasy. Toppings were fresh and the house made buns will blow you away. This was the best bun I have ever had on a burger. The "Sear Sauce" is a tasty condiment.Fresh cut fries were so good. Crisp and not a hint of grease. The house made pickles on the condiment bar are worthy of a trip alone.

I'm not exactly sure how long The Sear Shack has been open in Sanderlin Center in East Memphis. I try to avoid the area because of the Muddy's Bake Shop temptation! The Sear Shack is located at 5101 Sanderlin Ave. Suite 103 in Memphis, 38117. It's beside Purelux Nails, but it's probably more helpful if I tell you it's a couple doors down from Fox & Hound. The decor is clean and modern. There's plenty of seating, and the service is great. You order at the counter and they call your number when it's ready, but don't go on Monday. They are closed Mondays! The food includes hand-cut fries, homemade buns and fresh Angus burgers that are never frozen. Choose between a single or double patty with American cheese or without. You can also go for the Angus Bacon Burger. Here's a view of the single burger with sear sauce on the side.Trimmings are free and include crispy onions, sear sauce (a mix of mayo and ketchup), jalapeños, red onions, pickles, lettuce and tomato (sliced VERY thinly!). You can add any of the ordinary burger fixings like mustard by the drink dispensers. Here's a view of the double burger plus fries. You can even score a salted caramel shake with homemade caramel. Here's the salted caramel shake. There's only one size. They also feature a Nutella shake, but (crazy me), I'm not a fan of Nutella. My take is that this is a good place for a special burger, shake and fries, but it's not going to be a place I visit weekly. The food tastes great, and the service is good, but for folks like me who don't eat fried food, there is little choice. I can get steamed veggies with my burger at Huey's!On my first visit, I ordered a single burger and a salted caramel shake. I don't eat a lot of sweets, but I eat even fewer fried foods, so I thought the shake would suffice. I was hungry later. And the lunch set me back about $11.I know. I know. You pay for quality. When I returned later with husband, he tried the fries, which I sampled, and he got a vanilla shake. I know! I was so shocked. Why not get the chocolate, dude? The vanilla shake was vanilla. I missed the dreamy caramel. It's not too sweet. I don't like overly sweet shakes, and The Sear Shack gets it right with the shake. It's thick, but not too thick. On the second visit, I also got the double patty and it was much more greasy. Maybe it had something to do with the cook that day, but I didn't enjoy it as much as the single. It's better than Five Guys if for no other reason the excellent bun that doesn't fall apart on you! However, you do get more fries at Five Guys, and the Five Guys fries are slightly better. Yet another "however," The Sear Shake does have something called Cheese and Bacon Fries. Maybe? Something tells me I'll try them one day.And what did husband say when he tried the burger? "It reminds me of Shake Shack." Yep. The name is very similar too. Not saying that's a bad thing. We need a little more New York in Memphis.
