Review Huey's Southwind - Memphis

Huey's provided live entertainment, a family fun atmosphere, and outgoing service. I was in Memphis alone on business and looking for a delicious and unique experience. Huey's provides mouthwatering burgers, fries that you can taste, and see the flavor with each bite. The Rock Slide brownie desert was the right amount of sweetness, cold, and chocolaty flavor. Jasmaine was my server and not only did she have a contagious smile, she made me laugh and provided a warm experience. I would suggest if you're looking for a live entertainment atmosphere with a good burger to check out Huey's Southwind.

Great juicy burgers that never disappoint no matter the location. My wife and I had the Bluff City burgers. Absolutely great burgers! They did not offer a gluten free bun but she did not miss the bun with a burger with this much flavor. My oldest son had the A1 burger and loved every bite. We ordered the onion rings to split and they were massive! The pic just doesn't do justice on how large they actually are. Great service and knowledgeable waitress.

The food is good. The price is perfect for the food and location. The restaurant is cozy but might be loud if you go on days where the bands are playing. The servers are very prompt and attentive!!!

Hueys is Hueys. A beautiful staple in the Memphis scene. Love the cheese fries everytime.

Didn't take but a minute for the female waitress to take my order. She was a great waitress, as was the food.

The onion rings here are different, they're huge but the taste just OK. The burgers were good and the chili is ok, abit too salty. Friendly staff and there's a unique thing that the customers can do in Huey's, blow a tooth pick to the ceiling with a straw, we did it and it's fun!

Busy burger joint. Hamburgers taste good and they seem like real beef. The brownie a la mode was pretty good.

Potato soup was great! My husband had the grilled chicken salad and said it was the best he's had since it came with tomatoes and avocado, not just lettuce and some grated cheese.

Senior Huey is the only way to go! Fried mushrooms are hand breaded and amazing!!! And their Mexican mule is a MUST HAVE!!! Don’t forget about the cheesy bacon fries or sweet potato fries! I love how Huey’s keeps upping their game and updating their menu. They are innovating consistently which keeps me entertained as a consumer and coming back constantly. Their chefs are so talented and consistent. The staff is so nice, and patient. They are especially good for a recommendation too if you ever need it!

Everything was great , service was nice and speedy the food was wonderful! I can't remember our waiter name but he was knowledgeable and very nice ! I think I'm going to make this my go to place on Sundays for my family.

Huey's is one of those locals that will forever be dear to my heart! The first time I visited was at the end of the Summer of 97'. Just experienced a bad breakup and was cruising around town to clear my head. And then I got hungry when it dawned on me I hadn't eaten in nearly 2 days! At this point, anything would of been suffice. I was in Midtown and Huey's caught my eye. Never heard of the place, but it looked inviting. Went in and didn't realize how packed the place was and elected to seat at the bar, rather than wait for a table to free up. Ordered the Huey Burger and potato wedges. By far one of the best burgers I ever had. And that wasn't influenced by the hunger pangs that landed me there. While dining a frail man took a seat next to me at the bar. His name was John and he was terminally ill. Although I was deliberately being stand-offish, he saw that I was in pain and just struck up the most uplifting conversation; leaving me feeling encouraged. I knew I'd never see John again. He assured me of that. But it was in that time and space, I decided; "If a guy who knows he's dying could spend his few precious moments in time to lift my spirits; by golly I can honor his benevolence and stop my pity party and start pursuing happiness again!" Now why did I include that personal snippet in a restaurant review? Because it's important that's why? It is wonderful people like John that I tend to meet over and over again at Huey's. No matter which location I visit. Employees and patrons alike. I will forever miss my friend, albeit we only knew each other for about 1 hour. The lesson will last a lifetime. I have Huey's to partly thank for that. For being an establishment that attracts wonderful human beings; who can appreciate a tasty burger amongst other delicious menu items. And wherever you are in the cosmos John, thank you kind sir. One of the first places I brought my then fiancé in 2008, was the Midtown location. I told her why that particular establishment was so special to me. She wept with equal melancholy and joy, saying I was blessed to have ever known you.

Huey prices have gone up. SIX wings $14.25, no side little ridiculous. THEY CHARGE 18 % GRATUITY AFTER 6PM NO MATTER THE SIZE OF THE PARTY. IT WAS ONLY 2 OF US WE ORDERED 2 ORDERS OF WINGS AND 2 BURGERS 2 DRINKS BILL WAS $76. I LOVE THIS PLACE BUT I CAN'T AFFORD TO EAT HERE. FOOD WAS AWESOME.

Love the vibe of the place. And shooting toothpicks into the ceiling was fun. One thing I will say to anybody who has to deal with a food service is be patient with the waiters, they are not cooking the food. We had trouble with the burger stated we wanted no pink at all and the burger was pink of pinks. The manager made sure the burger was redone and well done and apologized for the inconvenience. Only bad thing was she didn't want to eat the food there after I already ate my philly so we took it to go. Still a good place to go for a quick bite or a cold drink.

It’s a tradition to visit the best burger place in Memphis since 1984. I can see why people like it the burger was great, the atmosphere was fun and barmaid was a doll. Thanks Jen !!

Service was very fast and she continuously checked on me which i always take note of from servers. The food was so good! I dont think ive ever had a burger melt in my mouth lol. Hit the spot and really wish i had room for desert. The sell local beers and have live music sometimes too. Also you can write on the walls...who doesnt want to do that?! Will definitely be going back. This was recommended to me and now i am recommending it too! #memphisflyerburgerweek

Great service. Found it unexpectedly not busy around noon on a Saturday, but filled with youth sports teams later. Diverse crowd - young, old, coming from all kinds of events.
