Belga Takeaway

I had a family function last weekend so I asked Belga Takeaway to cater for 35 people. The manager, Anh Do is absolutely friendly and helpful. He helped to tailor the menu to ensure all dietary requirements from our guests are well covered. Everyone enjoyed the food so much, they kept asking where I ordered from. I highly recommend “special fried rice” and “free-range chicken salad” for main course and coconut jelly for dessert. It’s important to note that the food was delivered on time, some of the hot dishes were kept in food warmers (everyone was so impressed) and the prices are very competitive. I will definitely come back!

Came in to order 3 combination fried egg noodle, priced at $13 / each on the menu at the restaurant. Then was asked to pay $45 because their price increased. This is very unprofessional & misleading. If you change your price, change the menu! The male server / owner was not very welcoming too. Definitely the last time we order from here.

Food was not fresh. Microwaved day old chicken, dry and was not offered soup as usual. Rice was microwaved. Tasted like Mexican instant rice from the supermarket rather than tomato rice. Stomach was upset shortly after. Unprofessional behaviour by owners. Opinions about how I react to cold temperatures were expressed directly to me by taunting me. This was while I was eating dinner. This was I my fourth or fifth visit. Not going there again because of how the staff disrespected me. You're entitled to your opinions but when you're at work, keep it professional and don't let your opinions on my personal life affect how my dish is served and don't taunt me as I'm eating. I showed no disrespect and did not do anything to invite that behaviour. My reaction to cold weather is a direct attack on my physiological response rather than what I've done in my personal life that he doesn't agree with. I gave them a chance after already being attempted to be ripped off from my last visit two days prior. They tried to rip me off and then played it off like they didn't know what I meant. There is no language barrier. Just trying to pull one over me. My mental state at the time just figured whatever, I'm starving and eating for the first time in four days so just take it on the chin and eat something other than frozen food. I love Vietnamese dishes but this place is by far the worst of all Vietnamese restaurants I've been to in my lifetime. It's the closest one to me so I gave them more chances than I should have. On my very first visit, the coconut drink was off and made my way to stomach sick. It wasn't due to them drink reaching above 5 degrees celcius either. The price is way too much for the portion served and how fresh it is cooked. Disappointed with the owners opinion and assumptions about me not paying tax when all I asked was to cash out $5 on top of paying for my meal so I could use the laundromat next door. It wasn't because of the minimum eftpos limit either as I requested to pay the minimum eftpos amount. He offered to let me pay a 50 cent surcharge instead of paying the minimum eftpos amount of $20. When you think about it, sounds like a tax evasion on their part by not allowing cash change.

Marvellous little gem in the West area. Their meals and dishes are just like home cooked - enough to be tasty and no MSG (which i am allergic to). Im lucky to get to know the family since they took over the restaurant, and their story of making food. They dedicate to healthy, traditional Vietnamese food (without skipping steps) and customer service. I really like their Chicken Coleslaw/Salad (Gỏi Gà), Stir fried seafood noodle (Mì xào hải sản), Soft shell crab deep fried, and many more! Especially their BÁNH GIÒ is really the best - very healthy, good quality, taste yummy, I cant find it anywhere else. They also make very nice Khô Bò (Dried Beef Jerky) - exactly the taste and texture that i love! Their price are reasonable, for the quality of food. They do fast delivery too. I highly recommend this restaurant.
