I was not very happy with the service there. My mother had made a booking and they couldn’t find it which was rather annoying and they were too lazy to check on their computer for it. They then informed us that dinner started at 5:30pm which would have been to late for me because I had a performance half an hour later. So I instead just ordered a cheesecake and some English breakfast tea. Their service was also very slow in ordering and also with the food arriving so I had to rush to finish my cake before running out. It was at least a short walk to the theatre which made it easy for me to arrive not too late before the show began and get ready.

A lovely meal of sweet potato and mayonnaise, it was very nice. The atmosphere is good and the waiter was delightful to talk to. Only qualm was the water, it tasted quite bad, probably a mistake caused by dishwasher powder.

Our pre Opera dinner was moved here - prompt/good service but very disappointing main (duck).

My Cobb salad was delicious. Couldn’t fault it. My companions had the finger sandwiches, egg, chicken and smoked salmon respectively. They reported they were lovely. We shared a key lime pie, a mixed berry tart and a Paris opera slice for desert. All were delicious but we all agreed the key lime pie was the best and has excellent flavour. The coffee was unexpectedly excellent as was the hot chocolate. Service was lovely too. We really liked this place.

Disappointing experience.
Waiting staff numbers appear under resourced and staff appear rushed trying to meet diner’s requirements.
We arrived at 6.00 pm for a Thursday pre show dinner.
We ordered and had our meal served promptly within ten minutes.
Meals tasted like they had been pre-prepared in advance and were served luke warm. Scallop pie had a strong fishy taste more than scallop.
Our drinks were overlooked and despite follow up requests our wine and drinks were not served until we had nearly finished our meal. Difficult to recommend on our experience.

Went for lunch with friends. It was only 11.50am, but they had already run out of some items. Excuse was that they had a large crowd booked in at 11am and some items were finished. Surely if they knew a large crowd had booked, more food should have been prepared. Ordered a non toasted item, that after 50 minutes hadn't arrived. When I queried it I was told the cook was still preparing it.
Everyone else had finished their meal, so I cancelled mine. Staff couldn't have cared one iota. First and last time I'd go there.

At 1245 last Wednesday at least 2 ready made options were unavailable. Waiter very apologetic and said they were not expecting to be as busy. Not really good enough at lunch prior to a very popular ballet performance. Surely management would be prepared for a crowd prior to popular performances. Food is ok but nothing special and servings are on the small side. Cafe Vic seems to trade on a captive clientele and could improve. Our waiter however was very professional and pleasant, and provided suitably attentive service.
