Simply Thai Southgate

Had the Sweet, lemon grass chicken and Sour Chicken and the Noodles. LOVE IT. Although a little chili (recommend having a drink with it, you would need it if your not use to chili food) it still was amazing, and wish there was a store near my house, so I could buy it all the time. Employees are so nice and kind. I ordered take-out and they told me I could choose any 3 options, and its like a package deal. They fill the box so much, that I can't always finish it, which is great because I can save it for later. Would recommend this to everyone and rate it 5/5 stars.

Got the lemon grass chicken, noodles, baisil beef and the fried calamari. The chicken and noodles we quite nice but the beef was too strong with its basil flavour and didn’t really taste or feel fresh. The fried tentacles were by far on of the worst things I’ve ever had. I sat down with them and the first thing that hit me was the off smell, they were cold and tough. I didn’t even have a full bite before I wanted to gag and I’m not exaggerating any part of that. Would have asked for my money back if I wasn’t socially awkward. Not worth the $25 total.

I've only been here once, but my meal (green chicken curry + noodles) was gristly, greasy, fatty and seriously subpar. I ended up throwing most of it away as I could barely eat it. Some of their other stuff may be better, but I personally wouldn't chance it. For the price, go across the river to any number of Asian eateries in the city proper. Avoid.

I would highly suggest steering clear of this place. I ordered the mee goreng and the second it came out, it didn't look right at all. It was orange and smelt off. It tasted very much like ketchup and the chicken was fatty and oily. I had about 4 bites and threw the rest. Definitely not worth the $14 I paid, I even had to buy an alternative lunch!

Ordered the Pad Thai and it came out with a very different taste as how normal pad thai should be cooked. Firstly the base tasted mostly like ketchup - wrong; a large spoonful of chilli flakes dumped on the side of the dish to make it 'spicier' - wrong; a small spoonful of peanuts (what's with the silly proportions...) left on the side of the dish - wrong; noodle portion was not very much... I wouldn't come here for authentic thai as I don't think their chefs know how to cook it properly.
