La Porchetta Carlton

Food taste wise was meh. The prices are exorbitant for the actual portion size. I remember years ago when a big main was enough for two portions, now I can easily finish it in one sitting. We had the smoked salmon salad and vegan penne chickn pasta. The salad was sad too look at and had a couple of small pieces of salmon, that for $24? A rip off. My “creamy” pasta had little to no sauce, the vegan chickn wasn’t even grilled and then portion size was also laughable. See photos attached.

My husband, my sister & brother in law & I visited last night, 10 minutes before the kitchen closed. Unlike some restaurants they didn't make a fuss about the lateness of our visit, but welcomed & seated us efficiently & took our order, 2 pizzas, 1 pasta & a chicken Parma. The food was served promptly &:we were all delighted with our meals but I want to make a special mention of my delicious anchovy pasta from the specials list. Perfectly cooked spaghetti with a fabulous sauce of anchovy, Chili, cherry tomatoes, onions & oil. Fabulous simple food beautifully cooked. Don't underestimate this amazing dish...,give it a try

Great pizza but because they are situated in a neighbourhood where it’s residents are predominantly old white boomers, the restaurant is forced to cater to their geriatric needs. This means that establishment is forced to close at 8 pm sharp or they will receive noise complaints from the cranky, old white boomers that live there. If La Porchetta was allowed to open late it would be a five star establishment. Such a shame how old white boomers ruin everything in this country
