Just a great small restaurant experience. Do not expect anything flashy. It's like dining at a friend's house. Food is good value and hits all the right buttons with taste and simplicity. Reasonable selection. I've been here a few times and like it more with each visit.

Exceptional service and fast. Unfortunately the food doesn't seem to be cooked by someone who knows Japanese food... We ordered tempura, gyu nabe, and gyoza. The tempura batter is not right. Prawns and fish are small and not fresh. Choices of vegetable seems random. I noticed a Korean name and decor in the restaurant, and the chef recommendation is bibimbap. If the owner happens to read this, I'd rather have a good Korean restaurant in my neighbourhood, than a fake Japanese one..

Rustic, home-style cooking - great donburi (rice bowl) options and friendly staff. Great local takeaway or dinner restaurant but it's small, so go early or late to get a seat.
