We did a farewell here and I chose the chicken burger - but at $15, I wasn't convinced. You could get a gourmet burger just down the road for that price. One that has heaps of flavour and way more juicy too. This just felt like it was slapped together. Where is the love? The inconsistency with the drinks was insane! We ordered a long island ice tea during lunch and it was good. Nice, strong and really bold. When we ordered another one later on, it was the most watered down version we had. And the way the waiter spoke to me, the condescension was incredible. Maybe the footy crowd was making it hard but customer service is customer service. I will have to go there again and do a review over 3 attempts to see how they fare. But for now, make sure you take a fun crowd with you.

Savoy Tavern is a bit of a mixed bag. A few key points: * After work drinks on the way home makes this location great * Drink prices are pretty standard. $8 -10aud a schooner (425ml) * Great selection on the lunch menu ..however.. - Service for 1-4 people is great - Service for 5+ people is average at best, particularly around peak times. Not really a working/limited time lunch venue. * Service is great (except as mentioned above with busy lunches) * The staff are friendly, nice, happy to chat and always helpful. * Sport is always on the television * Beer is always flowing with a great assortment of beers on tap.

Waited almost an hour for a steak. That's not the worse part. I asked how long it would take before and was told it wouldn't take long. Also I was seated in full sight of the service staff and was not approached once about the lateness. Finally had to get up and ask for the food myself. Steak wasn't even good. Over-salted chips. Meat is below average. $15 steak at La Di Da tasted way better. It's like Kitchen Nightmares except the food is not bad enough to be in the show.

Absolutely amazing place!! Staff couldn't be more helpful, food arrived very quickly. The food was very well priced, and very fresh. One of the best pub meals we have had in a while. The venue is beautiful, with a contemparary typical Melbourne style setting that is very cozy and welcoming. A+ would highly recommend to anyone who is after a good night. Just try to reserve a table as after about 6ish it gets pretty popular :)

Decent pub with decent food, but crap uncompromising staff. Took wrong order (who orders fish of day without enquiring what it actually is?) while busy pouring beers then remains adamant that they've taken right order. Not a trace of lamb in the lamb ragu, either. A bit expensive because of the location, I'd say. Also, obviously not interested in customer retention. We certainly won't be back.

The staff behind the bar are terrible and trying to get a female to serve a middle aged man when surrounded by young males is near impossible. Some friends want to meet there before the footy game. I am not keen as there are places where it is easier for a middle aged bloke to get a beer.

i was part of a lunch booking that was also "lost" in the system, then the manager said me would get us a table... he placed us (16 female child care students) in a sports bar with couches and 3 small cubed coffee tables, sports on every tv, the sound blaring..... we we in the end given no table, were treated horribly by the staff, some girls left because they were made to feel so poorly by the staff. the food took 53mins to arrive. worst customer service i have received ever

1970s bar in 2016. Packed full of after work crew and locals, this is a great meeting venue in the city with a reasonable menu (try the schnitzel) and good bar list. Big screen TVs show sport. Welcome to the 70s.
