The York

Great Food! Outstanding Service! Friendly staff with a sense of humor! A fantastic place to enjoy dinner with family and mates. We had walked passed by the place many times while thinking what Italian dishes we should get on Lygon St. But we were so glad we had tried the dishes from The YORK. We went there on a Friday night, had ordered a steak with medium doneness and pork belly. The steak was perfectly seared outside with quarter pink showing inside, juicy and full of flavor. My friend said the taste of pork belly brought back the memory of his childhood when he felt his mum cooked him the best pork belly in the world. Such a great fusion! I reckon it will be the next gem on Lygon St.

The food here is an eclectic mix of the Owner's (Ross') favourite dishes from a wide spectrum of cuisines aptly labelled 'Modern Aussie' even though he's actually Kiwi ;) The food is beautifully presented and tastes delicious - some particular favourites are the Prawn Skewers, Sashimi, Cerviche and mussels. Everything is so fresh and sourced from the best (which is eveident in the taste). Staff are super friendly and can't do enough for you. Such a gem of a find on the otherwise inundated 'Italian' Lygon Street. So excited for the rooftop to open soon too!
