For a busy Cafe that pumps out a lot of food,
Dr Dax seems to keep the quality in the kitchen pretty high, I had a beef cheese burger and I must say it was really nice, the meat was thick juicy and tender, and the chips that came with it were also really nice, I will definitely return to Dr Dan for snacks.

Good menu and atmosphere. If you order from the table menu, it's a little overpriced. The side entrance opening and closing on a windy/cold day is a nightmare (there's no issues during the summer but on a freezing winter day with really strong winds, that entrance should probably be locked). Also a good cafe for students - Melbourne Uni students get a discount

Poor customer service, they got my order wrong and used the wrong milk for my coffee. The manager told me it was my fault for not being clear enough and would not change my coffee, I am also lactose intolerant. Very unacceptable do not recommend coming here.

Appalling customer service and disrespectful behaviour to their employees
I wish I could give no stars. This place has terrible customer service and is extremely rude and disrespectful towards its staff and customers.
The manager speaks to their employees in a patronising and condescending manner and displays no empathy. With every interaction you could think of, it was demeaning considering their staff member had a terminally ill family member. No acknowledgement and understanding was shown.
Please be aware this place is extremely unprofessional and is a negative environment to be in, especially towards their employees.

Service and food a bit hit and miss. Some days it’s a huge serving of fresh gourmet salad served with a smile. Other days you get half the portion for same price by staff who don’t take your drink order correctly and then deliver not what you order.

Would be good to have heathy and consistent vegetarian options that aren’t afterthoughts (e.g. Greek salad and a spinach roll). Ice cream shouldn’t be in smoothies.
