The Botanical

Absolutely hard to fault. This place is perfect for any celebratory occasion. The decor of the bar, restaurant and cellar are incredible. As you walk into the restaurant, you can see the dry aged meat on display - great. We started off with glasses of Moët which we enjoyed with some simple French fries. For dinner it was the cauliflower, broccolini, scotch fillet, jumbo prawns, calamari and cocktails…several cocktails then wine Great spot. I imagine lunchtime would be amazing also with the view of the gardens right opposite.

Was in one of the function rooms for a dinner event. Bar was right outside so loud music can still be heard in our room. Service of staff was excellent. We really enjoyed our evening at Botanical Hotel. Some people found their porterhouse medium well too cooked and burnt and desserts were overly too sweet for our liking. Alcohols, Cocktails and mocktails were good. A smokers room was right beside our function room and the door was conjoined so the smell swifted in which upsetted several people. Bathroom was packed at all times and very dirty and wet.

I may be own my own here but this was a really disappointing experience. The Maitre d’ was condescending and unwelcoming. The burger was ok, better than a whopper but not much. The bathroom was dirty with curious puddles on the floor which I waded through. I am comparing it to a visit three years back that was very good. Roll the dice yourself if you have the cash.

A group of 4 on a Friday night with a booking at 8:30pm. When we first stepped in the staff was just walking around/right pass us couple of times like we were not there. Finally got there attention but it wasn’t helpful. We were there 10min early got told to go wait at the bar. The bar was super busy and smelly no where to sit or even stand. At the end we came out from the bar found a table of four that already empty since we entered. Asked if it ok to sit there. Staff said it fine. (At this point im not sure why they just dont let us sit there on the first place) however the food as great everything cooked to perfections however the service is bad and weird. Probably wont come back. The toilet was disgusting.

Went to this venue as a guest for an engagement party in the back room. The food was absolutely amazing. The service was phenomenal. Nice intimate private room with an outdoor/ smoking area accessible. My only fault of this venue was that at the time of our party, unfortunately the cubicle doors in the male were taken off the hinges. This made privacy a concern when using the bathroom. This should’ve been fixed as soon as possible in my opinion, especially when you have people spending large sums of money for an engagement party and want the experience to be as positive as possible. Overall, great food and customer service. Try the steak!

We had a great evening at the Botanical. We started with cocktails in the bar expertly prepared by experienced staff. Delicious they were! Then we headed to the restaurant where friendly and attentive staff ensured we had the best experience! Angel hair crab and pork chop with roasted cabbage highly recommended. Nice evening altogether! Suggest you go there!

The wine displays and bar were amazing. The produce was fresh but the flavours were to busy and didn’t match. The 1.6kg tomahawk came out cold but juicy as were the cold fries! Once the meat was reheated it was warm but dry, not worth eating. A very big disappointment for a $185. 00 steak. The wine list selection was absolutely amazing but absolutely ridiculous in price coming from the retail wine industry this is just overpriced. And I would not come back for it. Sorry. The bread was the best thing on the plate. Yum
