Visited for brunch. I would say the food was alright and can be improved. Ordered a big breakfast and mocha. Really like the mocha. Big breakfast not so much especially with the price point. Bacon should be cooked a bit more and chorizo was a bit hard too, Matt be slice it a bit smaller. Eggs, mushroom and toast were fine. Would probably try other places if visiting this side of the town, as lots of food options here.

Very very rude service!! We waited for an hour for an eggs benny and we the lady serving us was just unapologetic and almost screaming at us. The food’s not even worth it tbh. Would do zero stars if I could. Low key racist as well with how she responded when we asked to split the bill. It’s unfortunate because the other servers seemed ok but the older lady with dark hair was just the absolute worst! Get rid of her and maybe this place could get atleast a 4 star rating!!

The waitress seemed very stressed but was extremely short with us, putting a damper on what was otherwise a good day. The food was not bad, but took about 50 mins for an eggs Benedict and coffee.

Rude service! Just coz we were brown lol racism at its peak. Had to wait more than half an hour for a toast lol. Drinks came after the meal was over. Have been to countless places nearby them never experienced such a weird and stupid attitude. God bless them and give them enough wisdom. Can write so much but that’s alright.

This place is in a great location but the owner/manager has no concept of good service. She was verbally aggressive to patrons and even potential patrons in the lane way browsing menus of this place and surrounding cafés. Someone at another table raised a concern with their food and she proceeded to berate them. Food was also average so maybe hospitality isn’t the industry this owner should be in.

Such a horrible experience. Waited over an hour for the food. Honestly we were fine with waiting but the hostile service made the experience even bitter. Wish the lady who took our order was a bit more nice and welcoming.

Extremely bad service :( I went with my friends and it’s our first time in the Bourne so we were really excited to explore the city. This place really ruined the whole experience for us. The lady that served us was incredibly unfriendly and rude. We waited 50 mins for our food and whenever we asked her if our food is ready she’d show us her attitude. I don’t normally leave reviews but I must say this place is really not worth visiting. I’m more than happy to have a bowl of hot soup from the place across the restaurant. Least they serve us a bowl of soup with a smile and greeting.

Afternoon tea time or in the case of my friend - time for a Bloody Mary. We came to Eliana Lulu at 2.30pm and it was still busy from the lunch crowd plus being school holidays, quite a few younger people hanging here. They know something others don’t? Yes they do. Central Place has attracted restauranters who know how to differentiate themselves from the other cafes without necessarily poaching business from them.
Today I had a hot chocolate and poppyseed muffin. Served on a warm plate, the also warm muffin was light but with the deliciously crispy top (always reminds me of Elaine in a Seinfeld sketch). We watched Adonis make the bloody mary and he did it with absolute style and finesse.
Cynthia, was our waitress and was on top of everything. From her invitation to a seat, water on the table, helping me choose what sweet treat to order and then a bag to take home the second half of the muffin I couldn’t eat - she was excellent.
The ambience is interesting with the high stools at a bench that open straight out to the street, plus the tables inside that offer a warm feeling during this cold day.
Menu is simple and seasonal but there is something for everyone. The food coming to the tables looked very generous in portion sizes.
Liked the mural on the wall (see my pic) and who doesn’t love a sunburnt orange coffee machine!
Notes: come early for those busy lunch hour periods, in summer this place is very popular, suitable for vegetarians and vegans, restaurant is wheelchair friendly, kid friendly, takeaway available and close to Flinders Street Station.
