Nice atmosphere. Really good for romantic dates with the couches down the end. The food and staff are amazing. We even got a small pot of special salt to take home. The 7 course tasting meal was just the right amount of food and both the duck and the steak options were extraordinary.

5 stars for the price vs performance. food was great with a fusion toward Asian flavors. utensils should be upgraded and speed of service slowed down a notch. 1/5 bottle of our wine was left unserved as we were rushed into deserts.

I had a lovely experience dining here. Staff were knowledgeable, friendly and helpful, and the overall experience is very high-end. I had the 5-course vegan tasting menu ($95) which I highly recommend. It’s also less expensive than the meat option which is a bonus. All of the dishes were delicious & presently beautifully, with interesting flavours and textures(the lighting is very dim so pictures don’t do it justice). These were the dishes: 1. Black radish, fermented red chilli, avocado, qukes, puffed rice, yuzu 1.5. Bread with oil & nori for dipping 2. Heritage tomatoes, black plum, toasted rye, hijiki, cabernet vinegar, shiso 3. Tempura tofu, aged hon mirin dressing, chilli sambal, sweetcorn, Chinese broccoli 4. House made rice noodle, chick pea miso, shiitake mushroom xo, pickled turnip (really nice) 4.5. Pre-dessert cleanser - pomegranate sorbet (I think) 5. Ruby peach sorbet, pina colada, pink peppercorn, raspberry, native plum The highlight for me was actually the dessert & the pre-dessert palette cleanser. House-made rice noodle dish was also a winner. My suggestion: Have a list of vegan-friendly alcoholic drinks to accompany the vegan menu. There are some non-alcoholic drinks but it would have been nice to have other options.

We had a nice degustation dinner at Ezard for our anniversary. Loved everything about this small cosy restaurant. I tried the vegetarian option while my husband tried the non-Veg option. The veg options were really good. The dessert tasting plate were top notch ..yumm!!! And the flavoured butter and bread served in between....wooohooo goodness gracious :)

This place isn't as good as it used to be years back. There were actually bones in my fish and found it a bit too salty. Service was ok. I think they recently lost a chef hat also so I hope it will improve as I had some good memories of this place. Really good fusion food back in the old days.

We came here for my wife's birthday and it was amazing. The team here at Ezard have held their two hats for 20 consecutive years and they have demonstrated that it has been no accident. The restaurant itself isn't large which when coupled with their popularity makes it apparently why it was a little hard to get a booking. The ambience itself was low light and moody, perfect for a long romantic dinner and the staff, while a little flustered and rushed at first (they forgot to give us bread and our water glasses stayed empty for quite sometime. Staff were also a bit rushed, giving us a very abridged spiel about what's on the plate and quickly disappearing) they kicked into gear as the full restaurant began to wind down. The food itself was excellent, it became very apparent to us that the Ezard philosophy is to balance bold flavours (the head chef Jarrod explained he always works with sweet, sour, spicy, salty) which explains why most of the dishes had a bit of a kick at the end. Everything was beautifully presented and when paired with the expertly crafted non-alcoholic beverage pairing (developed by their world class bar staff) everything fell perfectly into place. We left extremely satisfied and full. We would definitely come back and recommend this place to anyone in Melbourne who enjoy fine food.

Top level 8 course degustation. Many places will charge you more for less. Added the wine pairing as well. A couple of misses, but most complimented the dish perfectly. The wagyu beef was the best steak I ever had. Service was top notch.

It’s been years since we’ve eaten here but the food and service is as good as we remember it to be. The degustation while pricey is actually very good value when compared with other degustation offerings in Melbourne & surrounds given the variety of food and flavours on offer.
