Review The Ugly Rooster Cafe - Mechanicville

This place has got it going on. It's big, it's busy and it's good cooking. Has that classic diner vibe all over it. Family owned and operated. My first time there and I got the Harvest Cakes. Expected the sausage on the side, was surprised that it was cooked into the pancake. Was good regardless. Reminded me of a sausage corn dog but way better. My Dad got the Eggs Benedict. He said it was good, I didn't get to try any ☹️. The home fries that came with it were my favorite thing of all. My Mom got the strawberry waffle. Pretty good 👍 Prices are good too. Only questionable thing is the parking. Don't worry, it's fun

It is so rare to find a perfect Eggs Benedict. I've been disappointed in so many places from down to upstate. When the waitress asked how our food was while I was eating it, my eyes rolled back and that pretty much said enough. The French Toast was great but they went way too heavy on the glaze. We scooped it off and tried it, enjoying the taste when the sugar wasn't overpowering it anymore. The Corned Beef Hash was fantastic, Homefries are so seasoned and we LOVED that. Most places underseason Homefries. The Fried Green Tomatoes are PERFECT. The batter is crispy and flavorful, the dip is great, and the tomatoes are wonderfully tender. My friend had an omelet and loved it as well. She said it was the best she's ever had. The coffee is the best I've had at a breakfast place. I loved our waitress. She was so attentive, friendly, and on-point. Every table is set far enough apart, every table and chair is wiped down between customers, and the establishment is spotless. This made us feel safer with dining indoors. We will DEFINITELY be back!

The best food in mechanicville! Everyone is so friendly and welcoming, we just moved here and they make us feel like we've lived here for years. My personal favorite dish is Nicks famous french toast with blueberries.(in the picture I had strawberries this time😁)

A typical American diner with a bit of extra flair on the menu. Located rather out of the way in Mechanicville. Waitstaff were OK; decent prices. I had the famous French toast with spiced apples, and it was good though extremely rich. Come here for classic diner fare with a twist.

Great staff and food! My husband and I ordered the farmers scramble, it was delicious! Our son ordered the eye opener he loved it. Friendly server and the environment is cozy.

Boyfriend and I just went there recently and we adored this place. The service was extremely friendly and attentive and the food was amazing. I loved their omelette! 10/10! I also recommend the hot chocolate!

Today was our second time eating here (despite living in the area for years) we had lunch to go this time. As was the first time, the food was excellent. The portions are big so I could only eat half of it. We'll definitely be coming again!
