Pleasantly Surprised!! A very nice restaurant featuring farm-to-table entrees that are absolutely delicious!! Had the opportunity to meet the executive chef, which was very nice. If you're looking for a good place to take a date or have a more sophisticated meal and you're in the area, The Mebane Downtown Table is an excellent choice!

Edited- How times have changed. Reviews don't help. They won't read, much less change or respond. Chef Bob is gone. Such a wildly disappointing downfall. Our go-to date night place. Always gracious, attentive, not over-bearing service, and the meals are innovative, mouth-watering and mostly locally sourced. A quiet, white tablecloth atmosphere without the fuss or pretension of other fine-dining restaurants. So lucky to have them nearby!

Stopped by here for Sunday Brunch on a planned trip to the outlet mall in Mebane. What a great find! The atmosphere was nice; the food was great; the service was smooth and the prices were reasonable. I tried the shrimp and grits and mimosa - great taste and nice portion size. The only downside was the flies we had to keep swatting; I know it's summer time, but that was a little annoying. Other than that, it was great, and we will definitely be back.

A very classy place with friendly staff. The Saturday brunch menu offers a lot of variety. My hamburger was juicy and perfect. Skip the chain eateries and go to downtown Mebane, check it out.

The food was phenomenal, the service was even better. My husband and I both eat a ketogenic diet and the staff worked with us to meet are dietary needs. We will definitely be going back and recommending this wonderful restaurant.

1st - Sanitation rating is great 97.5 and Great service! We went for lunch it was my first time, but it won't be my last. Salad with grilled shrimp on top with vinagrette dressing... it was delicious! Great coffee too

Been here for brunch, lunch, and dinner many times and it is wonderful every time. Much of the menu is farm to table, so often the ingredients are local and fresh. The short rib sandwich is to DIE for and the potato salad is a family favorite. The biscuits they bring you as part of brunch are simply delicious and definitely homemade. The prices are a little steep for a small town like Mebane, but considering the quality and presentation of what you get, it's well worth it. A fantastic place for a date night, brunch with friends, or a tasty workday lunch. Excellent beer and wine selection. No drafts, beer is only bottles and cans if that matters to you. The environment appears very nice and more formal than it is, but it is a fairly casual place (no tie or jacket required). Staff are very friendly and informative regarding the menu. I've taken many friends and family here when they visit from out of town and have always had a wonderful experience.

The restaurant is beautiful. Our waitress was super friendly, but messed up our order a couple of times...we ordered oysters as appetizer, they never came out, and it took almost an hour to get our food!! The pork chop was a nice size, had good flavor but could have used a bit more seasoning...too bland. The fried chicken must have been over-marinated because the texture was off....almost powdery. The dirty rice was watery and overcooked. The red fish was the best entree at our table, but it came out cold. The chef was not very accommodating either...

This restaurant always delivers impeccable food and it’s absolutely glorious. I have had brunch, lunch, and dinner here and even as picky as I am, I have yet to find a menu item that I don’t debate ordering seconds of! Today’s brunch was the best yet - the shrimp and grits is flavorful and filling, and the meat omelette was filled with pimento cheese & bacon and I had to fight the urge to lick the plate! Ask for Lorie - she was absolutely glorious and I will be requesting her section every time from now on!

The quality of the food, the excellent service, and the gorgeous interior keep us coming back. I've never ordered anything that wasn't delicious and perfectly cooked. You can't go wrong. Mebane's best restaurant, without a doubt.

We came for brunch, and we were not disappointed. The biscuits melt in your mouth - so light and fluffy. The Eggs Benedict on crab cakes were so delicious, and the eggs were poached perfectly. I was very happy they worked with my food sensitivities. Our waitress was excellent, too. My husband also had the nutty irish coffee, and really enjoyed it. We will return.

We are newcomers to Mebane, looking for the best restaurants in town. The Mebane Downtown Table was next on our list. This is a white linen restaurant with an excellent staff providing excellent service. Started with a Pineapple Martina followed by Fried Green Tomatoes perfectly seasoned. Hot bread with in-house herb butter. Regular cut prime rib ordered. Received medium rare, nice change. Best meal in Mebane so far by far. You will enjoy.

We always try and make the monthly wine dinners. Always different and they pair the wine and food perfectly. The weekend bunches are always great. It is a great way to start off the weekend days with all the things going on in the Mebane area. I highly recommend this restaurant for date night with the wife.

The Table has a great atmosphere with beautiful oil paintings on the wall, chandeliers with twinkling lights, a great antique bar and very comfortable seating . The tables are not to close together. The food is wonderful as arecthe drinks and the attention given us by host, server, bus staff was all phenomenal. A great restaurant we hope to return to soon!

The brunch menu is melt in your mouth wonderful, and the service was great. Can't wait to go back �

We had an outstanding experience at The Mebane Downtown Table last night. They were incredibly busy for a Tuesday night with two large groups. While deciding if we wanted to wait, a young man--David--a server--encouraged us to stay and that he would take good care of us and he certainly did. The food was amazing, from the apple arugula salad to the seared prime rib and filet mignon. David and a co-server, Chrissy were so attentive and did a great job. Randy and I worked in restaurants for many years, including fine dining, and we were thoroughly impressed! Although the restaurant was incredibly busy, the food and service were just fantastic!

The ambiance was delightful, exceptional service, and the food was amazing. One of the best all around dining experiences I have had.

My wife and I consider ourselves semi-pro foodies. We search out and try 4/5 star restaurants around the state and in our travels around the country. Chef Compton is as creative and skilled as any chef in other acclaimed restaurants we have visited. We love the wait staff, they are polite and attentive. I have always spent my money as close to home as possible but before Mebane Downtown table that was not possible in Alamance county if you were looking for something other than the standard fare offered at most places. Chef Compton and his staff are a welcomed addition to our "go to" list with an ever changing menu of seasonal offerings sourced locally.

Great service. Great tasting food. Nice intimate, romantic atmosphere. More of a upscale restaurant in Mebane. Love this place been here several times. Love going here with my wife. Recently took my wife here for our anniversary � �

Atmosphere and food was great! We couldn't have asked for a nicer server. Prime rib and coconut cake are a must try. We will be visiting again the next time we are in town.

Great seasonal and regional food! The attention to detail is evident in the meticulous plating of each entree! The staff was warm and inviting. Love the ambiance of another renovated downtown property!

For soup to dessert, the food was great. Especially the perfectly spiced crust on the tuna, which was cooked just right. On time service also. Kudos to the staff.

Great food, great service - definitely worth your time to visit if you're in Mebane!
