Osaka Japanese Cuisine

My 2nd time here. I'm hoping to be a regular. Service is awesome. It's quiet and chill. Food was great. I live 5 minutes down the street, nice to know I can have a delicious sushi meal quickly. The only quibble I had was that the side salads are just a boring bowl of iceberg lettuce with the dressing, and you can't switch it for the seaweed salad, which I love. Whatever. The waitress was so sweet I hardly cared. Another advantage is that the best nail salon I've been to here is right around the corner, Topline Nails.

We have been going to Mr Tokyo a lot. We thought we would try something different. The food is very similar, but there are a few differences. We went for lunch on Saturday. Mr Tokyo has the dinner menu for lunch on weekends. They charge a lot for that but give you all you can eat, no taking home left overs. Osaka has a traditional menu. This was great for us since we didn't want to eat a lot and we can bring home what we did not eat.

Tucked away in a shopping center, ample parking including accessible spots and entrance. Decent prices for large portions. Very solid Japanese spot in mint hill/Matthews area. Highly recommend the spicy tuna rice crispy square small plate and the stuffed jalapenos smaller plate. Bento boxes are fantastic and come with a lot of options and food. You can add soup and salad for $2. Nice people and will definitely come back.
