The staff are incredible friendly and the atmosphere is very unassuming, which makes Osaka a very comfortable place to be. The eel/avocado rolls are amazing, as are all the sushi dishes I've had there. I love that there is a small garden out back where you can see freshly grown ingredients being brought into the restaurant.
Went to Osaka for my birthday this year and I have been twice before I wasn't impressed but my family told me to go try it again so I took a leap and I'm glad I did. It was really good I started with the yakigyoza (fried dumplings) delish. Then I ordered the dinner combination hibachi steak and chicken which comes with fried rice, salad, mixed vegetables, sweet carrots, miso soup, and shrimp sauce on a huge plate everything was cooked perfect and tasted great. My friends got sushi, I didn't so I won't comment on it other than to say they enjoyed it and it was pretty. My drink glass did go empty for quite some time and I did have to ask for a refill as did my friends. I would only give service 2.5 stars, across the board it was a delightful evening.
So very good :). This is the only place where I have found a beautiful squid salad!!! It will change your mind on how it SHOULD taste!!! All of their rolls are very good and very fresh. I am a Panther roll lover ... let's face it ... can you go wrong with cream cheese and crab? I think not! LOL But a friend talked us into their FM Roll with the Filet Mignon topper; it was beyond good. We love dining there and find that all of their sushi is very fresh and good. I have never tried their other asian dishes because I go there for the sushi, sushimi, etc. And as a lovely finishing touch we always are served steamed towels at the end of our meal to clean our hands. It's a classy little nice touch which we look forward too. Do try them ... you won't regret it!
Have been a regular customer at Osaka for the last eight months. Have always found the food to be excellent And Priced right ! The management has always went out of their way to see that we felt welcome and we're Happy !
Good Japanese in Mint Hill!. We enjoy both the sushi and menu items. What is especially nice is they offer soy paper for those of us who can't stand seaweed. Staff is friendly and the food is delicious!
Great place for sushi!. This place has great food and great prices. Other sushi places can be really expensive and too trendy. I love their sushi, and my husband loves their habachi.
Very good. This place was one of the first we tried for sushi when we moved here. It's very good for where you are and what you pay for. Also, the miso soup is really good. Other dishes we have tried are the pork cutlet which was excellent and the teriyaki chicken, also good. We have been to Japan many times and realize that the sushi here in Charlotte can't really be *the same* but this is a nice alternative. Osaka is cheap and large enough to always have a seat.
Great Food. I really liked Osaka. The food was fresh and declicious. My sister ordered the salmon and said it was just about the best she had ever had!
Great for the area!. Met some friends over in Matthews on a recent shopping trip to Charlotte and we ate here. I got the sushi/sashimi bento box and loved it. Lots of food and great value. Our friends usually stop by here since it's close to their house and I can see why!
I like it very much. It is wonder. They give you a lot to eat but it is worth EVERY penny!!!!!

My 2nd time here. I'm hoping to be a regular. Service is awesome. It's quiet and chill. Food was great. I live 5 minutes down the street, nice to know I can have a delicious sushi meal quickly. The only quibble I had was that the side salads are just a boring bowl of iceberg lettuce with the dressing, and you can't switch it for the seaweed salad, which I love. Whatever. The waitress was so sweet I hardly cared.
Another advantage is that the best nail salon I've been to here is right around the corner, Topline Nails.

Had the best experience here tonight! We had very friendly servers and met the manager as well, who was exceptional. The food was delicious and we will definitely be back soon! We tried the kiss me roll, hidden dragon, Osaka, and rock & roll.
We have been going to Mr Tokyo a lot. We thought we would try something different. The food is very similar, but there are a few differences. We went for lunch on Saturday. Mr Tokyo has the dinner menu for lunch on weekends. They charge a lot for that but give you all you can eat, no taking home left overs. Osaka has a traditional menu. This was great for us since we didn't want to eat a lot and we can bring home what we did not eat.
Excellent spot for fresh sushi. Wait staff is always on point. Quiet, casual and very clean. Our local go to for sushi.
This place is amazing! It is always very clean and the staff is very polite and friendly, especially Michael. The food is very fresh and tasty 11/10.
Tucked away in a shopping center, ample parking including accessible spots and entrance. Decent prices for large portions. Very solid Japanese spot in mint hill/Matthews area. Highly recommend the spicy tuna rice crispy square small plate and the stuffed jalapenos smaller plate. Bento boxes are fantastic and come with a lot of options and food. You can add soup and salad for $2. Nice people and will definitely come back.
Super cheap, quiet spot for a quick lunch or dinner. The food is cooked to order. Always really good. My favorite is their carrots, they are so sweet and super delicious. They almost taste like yams.
Teriyaki Tofu was so delicious. The service was perfect. Very kind and thoughtful.
