Amazing fresh oysters, straight from the bay to your plate. Raw or BBQ, Hog Island has amazing oysters both to go, or to enjoy at the cafe. The cafe has rustic picnic tables with a priceless view of the water. Service is friendly and fast but guests tend to linger with a bottle of champagne or two,
We stopped for lunch on the way down to San Francisco on a short road trip over the weekend. It was a rainy and foggy day but that didn’t bother. When we received the AMAZING food we totally forgot that we were cold and grumpy. This was the best oysters I have ever tried (and I’m comparing with the
For oyster lovers, Hog Island is the ultimate indulgence. Made the scenic drive out to HI with a friend, arrived were greeted with a smile then seated after about a 20 minute wait. Outdoor seating is the only option, but with a gorgeous visit of tomales bay. The service is great, we were greeted by
Really cool oyster farm of the famous Hog Island oysters. They literally pull them right out of the ocean, and you can shuck them yourself. Staff was cool enough to provide a bottle of Tapatio hot sauce and an ice cold can of Natural Light!. The oysters were delicious and I can't recommend this plac
So I got turned onto this place after watching the Chef Show with Roy Choi and Jon Favreau on Netflix. It was definitely on my to-go list. This was from my visit last month, but I’m just getting around to leaving a review.
I signed up for the farm tour, where a group of us learned about the history
Great hidden treasure. Grilled Oysters with bourbon Chipotle butter are great, The arugula salad and cheese board with local Chardonnay wine completes our meal. Our day trip was great with great November weather.
I'm basing this review primarily on the extremely yum oysters which were plump, tasty, and fresh. They only have a few other items... we had the Cheese Board, Pickled Veggies, and Route One Bread. Bread was awesome, and a good filler. There were four types of cheese, some cashews, and fig jam... rea
Had two dozen oysters between two people, and they were so fresh and delicious. Gorgeous view. No shade so bring a hat/sunscreen.
Fantastic oysters and a really cool location. We stopped here on the way down the 1 from Mendocino and it was a nice scenic drive. We were really impressed with the location overlooking the water.
We had both Raw and BBQ oysters and they were great. If you know that you're going there try and make
Hog Island is rustic and beautiful. The drive up from San Francisco is refreshing. The oysters were spectacular and fresh. The staff was friendly and attentive.
Unfortunately, they were completely inundated with yellow jackets on Saturday. They were disturbing the people at my table every 1 or 2 mi
Great place to have fresh local oysters, harvested right on location. We bought two dozen oysters to bring back to our Airbnb, and enjoyed them over 2 days. They were fresh and tasted great. Last time we visited was 6 years ago, and this place hasn't changed much, and that's a good thing, especially
I am visiting from Edmonds, WA.
My Cotati pal played golf so I drove out to Hog Island.
Wow....the raw oysters with vinegar based sauce were great...but the grilled oysters with Hos sause were AMAZEBALLS GOOD!
great place for bbq and oysters. they have a picnic area with grills where u can have your own BBQ. come prepared with whatever you'd like to BBQ, there's no markets close by. make sure you make reservations for the picnic tables well in advance (reservation opens up 4 months in advance). or, just c
Booking months, upon months in advance was totally worth it. It's a lovely drive up route 1 from the peninsula, and the Hog Island outdoors area is in a beautiful setting too. You need a reservation for the picnic area, and it includes a grill with a chimney, rental of gloves and shucking knife,
Can’t wait to come back on my next trip to the west coast. We did this on a day trip from Napa, and had made a late afternoon reservation (which is key!). Great service, fun communal table seating where you can make new friends, and amazing oysters and cheese boards and beers! Loved the dip of the d
Wonderful as always. Such an incredible experience--fresh oysters, sun, amazing views. They're currently undergoing an update--so it was a bit muddy. Hopefully they'll put in some more restrooms as well. Regardless, I'd go again and again.
