Don's Tap

We met our friends here today for lunch. It was half way between Noblesville and Lima, Ohio. This is a family owned establishment with great food, fabulous staff and a gracious owner! I enjoyed the fish dinner with fries and a salad. My hubby had a big burger with a fried egg and chips. I hear this is a great place for the Indiana tenderloin too. It was off the beaten path but a well known local bar. I loved the homemade shrimp sauce! A patio is in the works with an outdoor fireplace. Nicest, cleanest restrooms I have ever seen in a bar. Please stop if you are in the area, or take a road trip for lunch. I’m sure you will be pleased!

Nothing beats an old-time bar where even strangers greet you and you’re treated like a regular as part of the family. That’s Don’s Tap. A fancy sports bar doesn’t always bring the atmosphere that makes Don’s a blue collar gem with fabulous food, warmhearted bartenders, and an atmosphere allowing me to mellow out, reflect on life, and watch the game. If you’re hungry, you WILL be fed well. Probably into the next day, with their all you can eat fish and sometimes shrimp, clam strips, and chicken tenders or wings. It’s a place to let go of what’s outside, have a heaping hot meal with icy cold beers and think, “ain’t America great”?
