Buffalo Run Restaurant

My wife, brother-in-law, and I stopped here on on our way out to North Cascades for a day hike last year. We had a couple buffalo burgers and a venison burger with a couple of good beers. There is a ghost town by my hometown in Kansas, about 20 minutes from anything, that had maybe ten permanent residents and a fantastic burger joint that was worth the drive from anywhere. I'd put Buffalo Run in the same company.

Fantastic eatery near the west entrance to the North Cascades National Park. We’re glad we perused reviews to find the Buffalo Run Restaurant as our choice for lunch before driving into the west entrance to the North Cascades National Park. The restaurant sits just off North Cascades Highway—look for the American and Canadian flags out front. The décor is a bit dated but is comfortable café with a charming, shaded outdoor seating area (recommend you sit outside). The seating is basic and not fancy. The menu is varied and includes a specialty in offering a variety of exotic meats like elk, camel, wild boar, and kangaroo. The service is friendly and quick. We ordered burgers and fries, and all our food was hot, fresh, and delicious. The prices are fine for the quality of the food and remote location. Overall, Buffalo Run Restaurant is a great choice for a relaxing stop on a day trip—great food, great service, charming. Highly recommended.
