THE BEST BAGELS. We visited Marathon for the first time and stumbled upon Marathon Bagel for breakfast, and it was some of the best bagel sandwiches we’ve ever had. The staff are so friendly, too! We even came back again on our short trip because one time wasn’t enough. Wish I had picture of the deliciousness, but we ate everything so fast we forgot!!

People are right about this place being the best bagel place in Marathon; but I want to mention, it’s not just the food, but the people as well!! —— — Me and my fiancé are visiting Key West, and we are passing Marathon to drive back to Fort Lauderdale to catch our flight. We dined in at this restaurant, food was amazing, we were happy and left. After we reached Miami (this is after 2.5 hours) I realized I have left my purse in the restaurant (together with my ID, and all of cards) - I was in a panic, I did not know if anyone found it or took it or what could happen to it; thankfully and by some miracle, I called 3 mins before they close. And they said they have my purse!! Though they are closing, they still say we can come back and get the purse. We drove back to the restaurant, and they are waiting for us in front of the restaurant!! They were being super nice throughout the process, and did not take any gratuity. All of these truly speaks volumes!! If I ever come back to the Keys area, I will choose this restaurant again, and I will thank them in person (and I won’t left my purse again! 😆)

OK, I'll permit this one hefty slice of New York on the Keys. An array of 10+ sweet and savory bagel encrustings plus solid traditional spreads, abundant sandwich fillings, and perfectly balanced (if a little more overpriced than the local standard) iced coffee make this a quintessential breakfast stop on Marathon.

Busy, lil joint. Awesome to see so many people supporting a lil local business. Bagel was fresh and delicious. Nova lox was really well smoked and served all the way with tomatos, onion, and capers. The smoke on the salmon was perfectly mild. Definitely will stop in again. (Coffee could be stronger tho...)

And if you find yourself further north, they have a second location in Islamorada at mile marker 86 on the ocean side. Awesome spot for breakfast. Has a nice choice of different bagels to pick from. Everting, plain, sesame, Asiago cheese, jalapeño cheese, salt, Cinnamon Toast Crunch, onion, garlic, poppy, cinnamon. All sorts of cream cheese also. I had everything bagel with eggs and pork belly. And a CTC with 3 egg whites bagel. Will be back
