We came here for my sons birthday and had a great dinner! Service was phenomenal! Super attentive and didn't have to ask for anything. Our chef was so friendly and cooked our food to perfection. Chicken was tender and juicy, everything was delicious. We will definitely be back! Beats the "other" hibachi in the area who barely gives you any food. At Sumo's the portions are generous and I appreciate that they don't charge you to sing happy birthday/offer complementary cheesecake. So nice!

I ordered 2 Special Rolls, Volcano Roll and 007 Roll.
Volcano Roll is the one with the bright red and green in the middle and 007 is the long curved roll.

This restaurant is one of the best I've gotten to enjoy. Staff is super friendly and attentive, Gyoza appetizer was amazing and definitely made with love. The Filet and Chicken Hibachi dinner was tender and juicy!

This is one of the best Japanese steak houses in Northern Virginia. I go here a lot and I must say... "Wow!" Great menu, drinks, and so much food. Large, fresh red steaks, nice size lobster tails, shrimp, and scallops and chicken is just as good. Great service by two nice ladies. Great selection of sushi and don’t forget to order California rolls. I have been into many nice Japanese restaurants and
this is definitely one of the best we've eaten at. I'm looking forward to returning.

Absolutely fabulous evening out with friends. First time visiting so did not quite know what to expect. We were pleasantly surprised by the friendly staff, fast service and cozy atmosphere. The chef was amazing and very entertaining. Huge portions of fresh delicious food.

I wish it cost a bit less, but it was worth it! Delicious!!! Joe was our chef, and he was wonderful too. If you go, you won't be disappointed.

For Hibachi it's excellent. Never crowded, chefs are very fun and friendly. Food was super delicious!! My 4 year old loved it too. Sushi is sort of underwhelming. Not sure if it's because of the pandemic, but quality of sushi has gone down. Last time our sushi rice was hard/stale. Hopefully not always like that for others.

Omg, Sumo!!! You need to taste it to believe it. I still don't understand how they give heaping portions of FRESH, high-quality sushi for such rock-bottom prices. AND it comes with hot miso soup and a salad?! The service is super fast and really sweet. The chef even brought us some amazing crab sushi to try, on the house. My husband doesn't like sushi, so he orders the hibachi, and they bring it to our table. It is mouth-watering, fresh and delicious! Sumo is my Friday night go-to. It is the best Japanese food/sushi in the area!

Beautiful restaurant! Friendly staff! I felt welcomed. Staff helped me pronounce one of the entrees I wanted to order, and I thought that was very nice of her. Any questions I asked, she was very helpful and answered them.
I ordered Unagi Donburi! It was delicious! I got it specially ordered, and the chef fixed it exactly the way I wanted. I also had Soft Shell Crab Tempura.....aaaahhhhh....delicous!!! I loved how they separated my order the way I asked so I could put as much or as much dip, sauce or gravy on it. Yes, I will be returning. Next time I may dine in. Thank you, Sumo, for my wonderful lunch/di nner.
