Review Pasta Market Cafe - Malden

Kathryn Dupuis
The food was great here (Tortellini Maria and Pappardelle Pesto) and the place had a very homey atmosphere to it; it seemed like a lot of the diners were local regulars. It's small (~7 tables plus bar seating?) but wasn't too busy on a Friday night. Wouldn't be great for a large group.

As recent transplants to Malden my wife and I have been exploring the local restaurants. This place is within walking distance and had good reviews. Who doesn't want to check out a place known for making their own pasta in-house? We just beat the dinner rush and were sat at the last table available. The drink selection is a little thin but we both ordered one and looked at the menu. I ordered a veal pasta dish and my wife a seafood one. The sauce was tasty but both the meat and the pasta were a little overdone. It seems the pasta was finished off a bit too much. Overall, given the reviews, we were a bit disappointed. I hope this is a one off as this place is so close to home. The service was very nice. We'll probably give this place one more try.

The food while the portions were not big they weren't small either. I ate my fill and maybe a bit more. I ordered the seafood risotto and the gnocchi appetizer. Every scoop from the risotto had either mussels, shrimp and/or calarmari. The gnocchi were bigger than i thought. Overall the food were good the staff were friendly.

Good food, little local-run place gives it a homey vibe. Indoor and outdoor seating, small bar inside. It is unfortunately cash only but the prices are quite reasonable for the portions you get. Highly suggest the pizza.

I would give this place 5 stars because I really loved it. Only thing is the place is cash only and while it said so on the door, I find it a little weird for a dining place that also has a liquor license. Scavenging the car for cash to pay our bill was our own fault, but didn't enjoy lack of a better option. Sangria was excellent; I think they only have a soft liquor license Frutte Di Mare was good, a bit spicy but I like spicy. Loved their pasta from the fettuccine and raviolis. Chicken parm was a solid option as well. Highly recommend stopping by, but do a atm pit stop firm. Or drink a little less to get a smaller bill ;)

bought a chicken brocolli Alfredo pasta, I was expecting a great pasta since I was hungry and it was $16. the sauce had no flavor, barely had any chicken or brocolli and was overpriced with regular bread instead of garlic. disappointing!

Fresh fresh fresh pasta! No frozen stuff here, just the real thing. Prisco is a master at preparing pasta too. Great Italian at a great price. Remember cash ONLY!
