🚨 don’t judge by what you see from the road! 🚨
We pulled in and did a u-turn. While waiting for a break in the traffic to pull out, I read reviews saying the same thing - don’t judge by the building!
We trusted the internet and it did not disappoint! The staff was great! Food was excellent!
Nashville's best kept secret from long ago. Was looking for some good authentic Italian food and I hit the jackpot here. The owners are from Italy meaning they definitely know Italian food better than anyone. I have lasagna and found the sauce to be flavorful and bold with just the right amount of cheeses. It was so good but just when I thought I was full of found out that they made homemade cannolis. The last time I had a real cannoli was when I lived in New England. These were excellent and stuffed with homemade ricotta. The owner was super friendly and we were fortunate for him to share stories of the old establishment that used to be one of Nashville's hottest nightclubs for the local Country Stars. I can't wait to go back for another visit and Sample more of this true Italian cuisine!
If any of y'all are craving some authentic Italian, check out Smeraldo's in Madison! Ahhh their homemade Italian dressing and cannoli's were to die for!
We were a little nervous at first since the building is old and kind of sketchy looking, but it was simply the most delicious Italian food I have had recently other than in Italy!
The owners are very friendly! They were also cooking and serving that night! 😀
Best Italian food outside of Italy! Everything is made in house and is perfect. You might wait a bit but it’s worth it. It is an old social club so don’t be surprised when you walk in, you will not be disappointed. Try the cheesecake.
Husband and I were looking for some local authentic Italian food since we are visiting the area. This place did not disappoint. Everything was made fresh and was so delicious. Our waiter was very friendly and attentive. Don't let the exterior fool you! This place is a hidden gem!
Absolutely delicious.
This place deserve more people than the other couple that was in the restaurant at 18:00 on a Saturday.
Our host was extremely gracious and warm. The menu is simple and with no fuss. I order the chicken Al Limone, which was absolutely amazing - an explosion of flavour. The entrée also comes with the best side of spaghetti I've ever had. I decided to give the cheesecake a try and on mylanta, it was to die for. Why aren't there more people frequenting here?!
The building is a little old and if you're OK with simple and humble décor, this place will do just fine.
All in all, if you're craving great authentic Italian food, skip Olive Garden and Maggiano's, and head into Smeralda's.
Do you want delicious and authentic Italian food?
Do you want friendly service?
Then stop reading the reviews and get over here. Located in the lower level of a former hotel (with a decidedly charming retro look), this is one of those spots you normally don't know about unless a local refers you. So here I am, a local: now go enjoy Smeraldo's!
