Fair Oaks Diner

My dad took me and my siblings here when we were children around 7. This was our favorite spot for breakfast. Over the years many owners took over. One day I decided to take my family here. The waitress Dani was really sweet and hard working. She got to us quickly and met all of our needs. The food on the other hand is a hard pass for me as well as the cleanliness. I will not be returning nor recommending this place to anyone. Sorry.

I have lived in Madison. Since 2015, why am I just now trying this place? Low key, off the radar, local diner. Small and cozy. Since it’s small it’s not hard to get someone’s attention if you have a question. The bagel of the day that I had, with both bacon and sausage was a bit greasy, but I love a sloppy sandwich so for me it was a positive. YMMV. American fries, while not as presentable as other places, they still tasted amazing. I couldn’t put my fork down once I tried them. I have only been here once so this is based off of that one experience. But let me tell you, I have been to many places for lots of different things, u will come back to this place again real soon. Amazing staff, amazing experience, and amazing food. 10/10.

My favorite breakfast restaurant in Madison. If you wondered what it was like before chains, Sysco and restaurants full of strangers, check out Fair Oaks. Excellent classic diner food in generous portions at fair prices. My favorites: Bomblet, huevos rancheros, and the plate-sized pancake. A neighborhood institution. Tell the owner how much you like the food. It will make her happy.

I don't typically bother to do reviews but I had to for this gem. Everyone here is amazing, that true diner atmosphere, and food cooked to perfection. If you're looking for good food, amazing people, and supporting local you've found your spot. Highly recommend to everyone. (We even came here for breakfast on our wedding morning, it's that good.)
