I've always passed this place when in the area, and I finally had some time to go inside and enjoy an early dinner with my wife. It's a nice pub inside, nothing fancy but it was comfortable and relaxing. We were there during off hours, so it wasn't crowded. I had the chicken cordon bleu, fried dumpling, and my wife had the salmon dish. Everything was top-notch, and we left happy knowing this place is an option.

Don't listen to the one star reviews. This place is very warm and great for conversing. It's not so loud like the other bars around the area. The food is amazing and happy hour prices are great and affordable (you are in a bar after all where drinks are always expensive, but it is very affordable during happy hour). The bartenders are great people and always attend you when you need them. The food is just great! The family are amazing people. No disrespect is tolerated in this location so if you are planning to get drunk and be reckless, well, good luck. It is a great place to eat outside. I have been on a few dates here and always have had a good time. This is a place where you never feel pressure to order right away as some other bars do to customers. This is a peaceful bar/restaurant with a family who deeply cares about their customers. Anthony is a great person who works very very hard, he is the head bartender and will always try his best to help (It can get very busy). Overall, great place for a date, by yourself, or just to hangout with friends. Great atmosphere. I completely 100% recommend it for anyone who wants to get a quick drink or bite, or even relax. Happy hour is 3-6 and prices are amazing. Take my word for it, give it a try. Food is great.

This place is great! There were a lot of people there (it was a Friday night) but you do not feel cramped at all. Service was great. There is a large selection of drinks. The food was very delicious I ordered French onion soup, it was good not too salty! For dinner I ordered a strawberry brie salad. It was absolutely delicious, great portion size for only 12 dollars! I would recommend going with friends, not ideal for a date :)

Perfect atmosphere! Looks like a quaint, cool pub, but the food happens to be excellent also! A must if you are in Chatham or live in the area. Better than just bar food! Inside and outside is very cozy and appealing!

Good food in a casual setting. They have a large bar, plenty of indoor seating, and a lovely outdoor section. The food is a step above pub/ tavern food, with the lobster Mac and cheese being a favorite amongst our family. They have a nice selection of appetizers and other items, so you can get a full meal or just snacks with drinks.

As a vegetarian I can’t tell you how much I enjoyed the Portobello Mushroom Sandwich. SO highly recommend. Also loved sitting by the fireplace after a day long hike. I’ll be back soon

Enjoyed the food and the friendly staff and patrons. Had excellent food including excellent fried dumplings and a new York strip steak that was absolutely top shelf. The people with me also loved their food which included the prime rib which they absolutely loved. Will definitely be back here!

Unique horseshoe shaped bar. Made for fun banter with other patrons. Several TVs mounted throughout for proper viewing from anywhere. Friendly and prompt service from bartenders.

Honestly the food is decent and the drink menu is okay, but the reason they get 5 stars is that service is excellent. Greeted us at the door, sat us down immediately, took our drink order immediately and all with a smile. The drinks and food came out fast. I would go back and recommend just for the service and I’m sure people will probably be into their food more than me.

This review is a long time coming. I have been to the Prospect Tavern quite a few times over the past number of years and lately the food and hospitality has been above and beyond. While it has always been a great neighborhood spot to go to, I just feel as if the food has really hit its stride!
The prime rib is EXCELLENT! Worth every penny and as good as you can get in any steak house. Tender, tasty, succulent and enough to take home and have leftovers the next day.
The fish and chips are as good as any you can get on this side of the Atlantic. The batter is crispy and not too oily and the cod is plump, juicy, and cooked just right the chips are fresh and made to order as well! Couple that with the malt vinegar and you have sitting on your plate a traditional taste of England!
The beers poured by the bartenders are cold, fresh, and in the case of the Guinness poured correctly. Speaking of beers, their happy hour is the best in the area - plus it is EVERY DAY!
Whatever they are doing here at Prospect, they are doing the right way!
If you have not been here or if it has been a while that you have shown your face in this neighborhood staple, it is time that you revisit this old friend. I know that I was!
