I love the happy hour here, (it does get a bit loud sometimes). I am a regular there and I've never had an issue with any bartender/waiter/waitress. Food is done well. The nachos are so huge that they are like a sky scraper, you probably won't finish them by yourself. The pricing on the drinks are great during happy hours. Dee, Tracey, and Crystal, and Christie are great bartenders and will always take care of what you need. Parking may get full around 5ish because everybody goes to happy hour. It is a very comfortable place and met a lot of great people there. Burgers are amazing. Lots of events go on as well. Great place, totally recommended. I always look forward to going there after a day of hard work. Take my word for it, totally worth it.

Had a wonderful first visit to 54 Main. Despite the crowd, service was swift and the food selection was impressive. Everything tasted excellent, making it kid-friendly. Highly recommend and will return soon!

Staff and service was great, and it was a busy night with only one bartender . Only complaint was several times overhead management speaking to staff in condescending and rude way. Even though the restaurant was very busy and staff was working to best of their ability and were very accommodating.

We went there for lunch, let me tell you truthfully they have best chicken Milanese and potato fries... love to come again and again best food in the number town of New Jersey. This place never disappoints. Whether stopping by for a drink at the bar, an appetizer at one of their many bar tables or a sit-down meal in the restaurant, it's sure to be a wonderful experience. Staff is friendly, drinks are delicious and the food is fresh with many different options to choose from. You can also sit outside and watch the happenings of lovely downtown Madison! All-around great place!

Food was good for what I ordered. Some people in my party ( quite a large group) didn't like some of the food. Ordered the mahi tacos and they were great. Calamari was some of the best I have ever had. Great drink selection and the wait staff ( Sarah was our server) was wonderful.

Went there for the first time yesterday to celebrate my Drew freshman's birthday. We will definitely be back. Our server was super sweet, the food great and we didn't feel rushed while enjoying our little party. Luv the awesome nacho platter too!

The food (I had the bean burger) and coffee were really good; but what will make me return is the BEST SERVICE! I was warmly greeted when I walked in and it seemed the staff couldn't do enough for you. We had a wonderful waiter named Manor (I hope I spelled it correct) and other waitstaff also checked up on us. Manor was extra special because he was insightful enough to simply look over and not interrupt a good conversation; knowing by instinct that everything was good. I love, love, love this place and will be back. Thanks so much for a super lunch experience! <3

Food was delicious. Atmosphere also was really great. We were there early - around 5 pm, and we were seated right away. When we left, however, there was a long wait. We had a bunch of appetizers and drinks. Everything was great, and the service was outstanding. Totally recommend.

Aggressive Manager and Bad Food. I had an awful experience at Madison 54 tonight. The two appetizers I was served were inedible. The oysters smelled like sewage and calamari was burnt and mixed with an odd array of bits scraped from the grill. It was appalling. The manager Pete has an innate lack of customer service and temper. When I let him know about my experience, he immediately got defensive, reacted aggressively and asked me to leave because I was colorful in describing the cuisine. Ironic, given his staff, including those from the kitchen hanging out in the dining area, were yelling obscenities across the bar 10 minutes earlier. If anything, at least the establishment is consistent. The quality of the management that night seemed to match the quality of the food. I’ve been a frequent guest at Madison 54 and will not return. I’ve probably spent more than $5K there over the past year, which is more than enough of a sample size to advise you not to go there, especially if you’re taking your family. When they host bands, the speakers are turned up so loud you’re likely to burst an eardrum. The food is bad, the service is unsettling, and atmosphere is loud and obnoxious. A series of terrible experiences have led up to this truly awful experience. This place is a stain to the Madison community. You’ve been warned.

The menu is diverse but food is par or below. Prices are also a tad high, particularly for the quality. I've given this place a couple of chances and was disappointed each time. Seems to be a draw for the middle aged crowd meeting for drinks.

The atmosphere was as expected, dark and loud. The food was poor, Thai Calamari was over cooked " yes rubber bands". The Fish and Chip were greasy, the fries were cold, and for $18.00 "ouch!" in Madison there are many other GREAT Restaruants to visit before you choose this one!

Good menu. This is a pretty happening spot in downtown Madison with a pretty diverse and appealing menu of American fare. It gets really busy on weekends but you can typically grad a table in the bar area without too much trouble. There's usually a pretty diverse beer selection on tap with choices like Long Trail Double Bag, Blue Point Toasted Lager, etc. Good happy hour specials with half priced apps and (I think) beers. Sometimes the clientele is a little obnoxious during happy hour, but more the yuppy middle-aged loser kind of obnoxious, which you're probably used to if you live in the area.
