Augie's

An AMAZING restaurant with superior, delicious made to order, cooked and prepared once ordered dishes. Food is delicious. Staff is friendly and there is entertainment and events going on often. Augie's is a Madison Heights community sweet spot! Great for young and old alike. I'm grateful for the Fox & Friends interview in 2021. I was traveling in Minnesota at the time but saw it in my hotel room. When I came home to Michigan I had to go. I've been going ever since.

I walked in around 4:30 on a Wednesday with maybe 2 other parties in the place. The bartender got my drink and provided a menu, but I didn't see her for a while. She got back after about 15 minutes and took my food order. Food took an average amount of time to arrive and was pretty good. It was a shrimp appetizer made with their signature "bang bang" spicy sauce. A bit on the hot side but flavorful. I would get it again The bartender, on the other hand, not a treat. Her overall demeanor was less than "warm". No small chit-chat or even a "Here ya go" when dropping off my drinks. She also left my completed plate and drink glass around for another server to pick up. After-work business started picking up during my stay so I can undertand her being more busy, but I don't think it absolves her for ignoring me for long stretches as another bartender was also working by that time. I also think $5.25 for a simple mixed drink with well vodka during supposed Happy Hour is a ripoff.

Came in tonight to celebrate my daughter's birthday. We got seated at 6:45 and at 7:05 I had to ask a guy who was bussing tables to send a server over. Close to 10 more minutes passed and I had to ask him again. He came over himself to take the drink order which was appreciated but he had no idea what draft beers were offered. At about 7:20 the server came to take the food order. The food and silverware was dropped off by another person. At about 8:20 we had another person join us and after 20 minutes he had to go to the bar to order a drink. It's now almost 8:45 and we have been here 2 hours....only had the waitress come by the one time when she took our order.

Warning: watered down booze. We ordered mixed drinks that we just thought were weak so then we got a round of double shots of vodka that were DEFINITELY at least half water. We went there for sporcle trivia which was pretty alright. We ordered a bunch of appetizers and they were all really really good though. Just don’t waste your money of their alcoholic drinks unless it’s a beer.
