The Thirsty Moose Cafe

I wonder if this was my favorite place to eat in 1965 when I was a 18 year old sailor stationed at Cutler Navy Base. I often enjoyed "dates" with local girls and before or after a movie or stroll, we would enjoy dinner here. It looks to be in about the right spot. I have fond memories. At 18 yo I and my date were served wine with our lobster. A big deal in those days. Lobster was cheaper than a hamburger. How cool is that?

Spent the night in machias with family. We 're here for lunch and was invited back for a surprise birthday for one of the band members. We came back and throughout the afternoon we spent about 300 dollars (lunch, then cocktails later). One of our members had to go do and errand and asked the if He could get back in, the guy told him he had to pay a 10 dollar cover charge to get back in. They missed out on any more of our money. We gave the waitress a nice tip ,sadly we all left. If we ever stay in machias again we will definitely come back. A lot of nice folks in this town.

Stopped in on my way through. Waitstaff was incredibly friendly and the food was great. The fellow patrons were eager to make conversation and everyone was super friendly and accommodating to make sure a good time was had by all. Absolutely recommend to make it a stop even if you're not directly in the area, worth the travel. Tops any place around, we will definitely be back.
