For starters I’ve lived in the area for most of my life and yesterday was the first time I’ve heard of La Fogata. We were looking for a “new to us” place and I’m glad we gave it a shot.
Like many Mexican restaurants in the US you start off with chips and salsa, which for me establishes the kitchen’s ability. The salsa was excellent, spicy and flavorful. From then on I knew the entrees would be legit and we were not disappointed in any way. Great, flavorful food with a surprising price point.
From what I saw it appears to be a family run spot so that’s another reason why we’ll be coming back. If you like Lola’s you will be pleased with La Fogata

This small family owned business is the true definition of the American dream. This family puts their heart and soul into thier business. The father cooks, mom helps and their daughter takes care of all the tables. Their daughter is in high school and spends her afternoon helping the family run this amazing little place. The food is lovingly prepared to order. It's not cooked ahead of time so it may take a little longer, but don't worry, it's worth the wait.
Thank you for making such an awesome mom and pop restaurant.

Amazing! I was out of my area and looking for a place for an early dinner. The staff was very attentive and friendly. The food was excellent I will definitely eat this place again whenever I’m back in the area.

Former employee from 2006-2009, just checking in to see if the place is still open. Really good employers, lots of repeat customers, and I remember liking the food, too. Glad to see they’re still kickin’ and in business.

Great family cooking. Looks like Dad, Mom, and teenage daughter run the show and serve up some delicious food. Friendly, prompt, and tasty. Their salsa is probably the best we have had in Lynchburg!

We had a great dinner. The food was delicious, the prices were good and my frozen peach margarita was exceptional. They put a heart on top!😍 The food arrived sizzling. You could see the steam rising from the plate. Its a nice family atmosphere, too. Highly recommend.

Wow! We are from California and this was SO authentic, we absolutely loved it! The pupusas (El Salvadorian) were amazing and everyone loved what they ordered.

Some of the best chips, salsa, and cheese dip I've had. The food was good too. The only problem was the rice. It was overcooked and basically disintegrates in your mouth. It tasted like the cheap rice you buy that comes in a box from the grocery store.
