Kippy's is the BEST! The owners, George and Sonia, have amazing local contacts to get the VERY best seafood. Since their client base includes the local "fishermen" market, their customers know the difference between good seafood and the inferior products. Lubec has a lot of food establishments from people who are not from Maine, who only open during the summer, and they take their earnings with them south. These food people simply won't get you the BEST food like Kippy's can with their local network in the active, working, fishing community. If you're visiting DownEast Maine eat where the locals eat. That's Kippy's!!! If you want to explore "other" seafood vendors, ask where they spent most of the winter. That will tell you a LOT!!
