I stopped in for lunch and ordered the bratwurst on hoagie roll dressed with sauerkraut. It was a wonderful blend of flavors with the grilled brat and German -style (sweet and tender) kraut, all made even better by adding some mustard. I can also highly recommend the huge fresh chocolate brownie desert, which is topped with hot fudge, vanilla ice cream and several generous dollops of whipped cream. Service was top notch, friendly and helpful.
I'll be back!
It's good. Been there several times. Menu is somewhat limited in terms of selection. Food is bar fare with a little twist, but very well prepared and tasty. Burgers and sandwiches are good. Atmosphere is quaint and nice. It's a great place when looking for something a little off the franchise trail, serving quality bar fare and having an atmosphere that is it's own and a little unique I recommend it. I like it. Will be going back for sure.
Great place! Great service! Chicken tenders w/honey mustard fantastic. Bucks Burger for beefeaters and Brentwood Chicken for poultry lovers are solid choices. Need more white wine selections like Matua Sav. Blanc on the menu. Dan runs a great place. It's our regular stop.
I love the pear Gorgonzola salad! Wonderful service and great food:) if you want to have a chill hang out, great service and awesome food- check it out!!
Worth a visit after work or lunch. I've been there both for lunch and a after work beer or 3. The lunch was good. It was a step above normal bar food but nothing super special about it. They had a good selection of different sandwiches and salads. The wait staff was very quick and helpful. As for the after work beer, I don't recall their tap selection being anything to major. I'm a beer snob so I like different options. I did end up having a few bottles of an IPA they had in the cooler and it was very good. There bar menu / appetizers are good and worth the money. I would go back for a beer with friends.
Great place!. My wife and I visited there tonight and love the place. It is somewhat like a sports bar sorta place, but classier. The decor is great. The menu is varied enough. Value for the food is very good. My wife had a shrimp salad sandwich and it unique and quite good. I had the Dan's Burger and it was also very good. The burger was cooked with right amount of done ness and had that slightly crunchy crust that comes from hand formed beef cooked at the right temperature. The burger had onion straws on it and BBQ sauce. Awesome!
My wife had a side of edamame salad and it was very good. She always picks good stuff off the menu!
Bottom line is a great place and great food in a smaller more personal tavern.
We've been there several times and have never been disappointed. Friendly atmosphere, very good service and great food. My menu favorites are: the soft pretzel stick appetizers w/warm beer cheese, buck's chopped salad, the ham & cheese sandwich on a pretzel bun. I ask for turkey instead of ham and the substitution is no problem. Their house chardonnay is very good.
Great place. Decor is very good. Food is always exceptional. The service has always been top notch. My wife and I eat there 2 -3 times month and we have never been disappointed.
Just what we needed.... My wife and I have lived in Landen almost 15 years, and always struggled to find a local place like Buck's. Just a place where we could hang out on a Friday night... debrief each other about our work week... have a few beers... and grab something to eat. Nothing fancy, just looking for the local, neighborhood pub with good food, friendly staff, etc. If that is what you are looking for, then Buck's is the place. Do we wish they had a more extensive menu? Sure, but that's because we are there once a week. The items on the menu are tasty, the beer is cold, and 'normally' served by friendly and competent wait staff. Then again, maybe you shouldn't visit Buck's (at least on Friday nights) as it will reduce our wait time...
Friend of Bucks. Our family is a frequent customer of Bucks Tavern. Know the owner by association in local sporting events, Kings HS, Little League Baseball, etc. Fun place to go for a sandwich and something to drink while watching sports on the many big screens. The food is good and the portions are generous. Love the pretzel sticks. The grilled cheese and fish sandwiches are my favorites.
Would like another option or two for sides like Saratoga Chips or regular potato chips. Not big on the two current options but it's not a show stopper.
The owner and wait staff are very friendly and accomodating. Also, it's nice to find a clean restroom.
I Like Buck's. Buck's is just what this neighborhood needed, a nice friendly watering hole with simple but tasty food. Burgers, sandwiches, soup and salads - all made fresh and very, very good. The burgers are hand made on site, they make their own bread, and the home made honey mustard is the best I've ever had. Lots of places have sliders (mini hamburgers), but they are almost always frozen pre-made patties purchased from the distributor. Not at Buck's. They are hand made just like the regular ones.
The staff is always friendly and accommodating, and the owner is there everyday making friends with all the patrons. Go sit at the bar by yourself sometime and the bartender will probably introduce you to others there, and the next thing you know you've got a new drinking buddy.
In response to the previous post about the draft beer prices I can point out that they're 20oz's, as opposed to the standard 16oz. Bud Light goes for $2.50 - so oz. for oz. the same price as Mongo's, and I'd rather hang out at Buck's.
They say the bar is going to be expanded, and an outdoor garden will be added as well. Good, because that is my only complaint - the bar seats fill up quick.
If want apps...go during happy hour and go somewhere else for the beer. Stopped in the other night to visit a friend who bartends at Buck's but he wasn't there. Before I could get out the front door the owner was there welcoming me and telling me to sit anywhere it was open seating. I was with a friend so we decided to grab a beer and go.
The waitress took our order and told us it was half price appetizers. We ordered the potato skins and I'm a nut for hot soft pretzels so we got those too. Both were really good. Love the beer cheese they served with the pretzels.
Now if you don't go during happy hour the potato skins are $9 and the pretzels are $7. You could get an entree for less than 10 bucks. Now I know why I very seldom order appetizers when I go out unless it's during happy hour.
I guess I've been spoiled by BD Mongos and their $2 pints but $5 for a pint of 312 ale killed me. Luckily I stopped at 2. Two for $10 at Buck's or 5 for $10 at BD's. Hmmm. Don't take a rocket scientist to figure that one out.
I'm all about support the local businesses and I will definitely go back to Buck's Tavern for the food but I'll be going else where for the beer.
Today was our first time at Bucks Tavern. Staff is very friendly and attentive. Great atmosphere. The food was amazing! I highly recommend going here. So many apps and entrees to choose from!
Very good food and service. Had the Italian Beef and Bucks Club.
Wanted to try something new for dinner and came across Bucks. Jackie was out server and she was great! She was pretty much all over the place in 2 different sections and yet she was on top of everything. Food was AMAZING! Already planning our next visit and told our families to visit in the meantime.
We were on our way home to Kentucky and were hungry. We googled places to eat and Bucks Tavern came up. So we decided to try it. The servers are very helpful and friendly. The food was delicious. We even talked to the owner. We would definitely recommend Bucks Tavern
Burger was amazing. Wife's Reuben she said was one of the best she's ever had. (Wade) Garrett was a super cool bartender. We'll definitely be back soon!
The food was delicious but our server was terrible. At least four groups came in after us and they all received their entrees before us. One of the groups even finished their meal and paid before we got our ticket. I can't blame the kitchen because the menu is simple and the other servers were hustling.
We stopped at this place on our way out of Cinci, decent place, courteous staff, good service and good food. I asked for some
Local brew, the server was not sure, so she called in the bar tender who told me about the locally brewed ales/beer, which was nice. Good food for reasonable price.
