Review Noche Mexican Bbq - Louisville

Oliver Barlow
The restaurant was interestingly designed around the church it's based in. The cost of the food is a little in the expensive side for a seemingly casual but upscale Mexican restaurant but we enjoyed the flavor and presentation our food. Apart from the flavor, the proportions really make up for the cost. For example, I was here on a lunch date for 2 and if you look at the pictures I have posted, we had enough food to easily feed 4 people. I would highly suggest this restaurant.

Really enjoyable place for a special occasion or when you want to try something new--not sure I could afford to eat here as a regular. Not technically authentic Mexican food, but definitely made from scratch and lots of interesting combinations and flavors. Everything was very good, glad we tried the salsas so we know which are our favorites. If you plan on coming for food, drinks, and an appetizer, expect to spend 30-50$ per person.

We had been wanting to go here forever, and we really wish had sooner! Everything about this place is amazing! The architecture and decor are beautiful, the staff - especially the bartenders - were really helpful, and the food and drinks were MIND-BLOWING! Everything we consumed was top-notch. The margaritas were probably the best we ever had. On the advisement of the bartender I ordered the brisket taco and it did not disappoint. I'm not a big brisket eater and this definitely was the best taco I've ever eaten! Definitely go with sweet hot mole. I cannot stress enough that you must try this restaurant. You will not be disappointed.

This is an awesome experience. As one of our fellow diners stated; this is a destination! Drinks are awesome, food is 8/10, staff was super friendly. Our group was large. They should have had more than 1 person with our table of 20+ people. Those in our group fully anticipate going back again next when we takeover Louisville again. You have to give this place a try!

This was a great dining experience. It was my first time here and I enjoyed every minute. The ambiance was wonderful. The setting is an old repurposed church building with pipe organ, stained glass windows, flying buttresses and all. The food was excellent and the service was perfect as well. You couldn't ask for a better dining experience. Highly recommended!

This was an absolutely beautiful place to eat. The setting is an old church and the stained glass is amazing. I ordered the birria tacos at the suggestion of the bartender. The food came so quickly I was actually shocked. The tacos were amazing. The spicy elote was also good with just the right amount of spice that it wasn’t overwhelming. I had a peach old fashion that was made exactly the way I liked. All in all, this was an amazing restaurant, and I’d love to go back again with friends instead of dining alone, some of the dishes I saw being served look more suitable for sharing so I think I’ll go back and do that.

One of the most unique places I've ever been, and one of the tastiest. First off, CHAD, our server, is the 🐐, he was very well informed, he constantly checked on the table and made sure all was in order and we were having a good time. His recommendations were indeed the best, and dude is just cool af, so thank you Chad for being our server!!! The food, tasty, filling, and it looks amazing. I already wanna go back. The atmosphere, IT'S IN A CHURCH, can't get more unique and giving off an insane atmosphere for a restaurant, whoever decided to turn the church into a restaurant I just wanna shake their hand. All in all the place was amazing, we had some appetizers that were delicious, the house margaritas which were REALLY GOOD, and then had the tacos, I recommend any taco as each of us got one from the menu, I couldn't finish mine cuz the appetizers were so good I ate a lot. 10/10 place.

Maybe it was extra busy because it was full but our server who was nice was hardly ever seen. I mean there was a long .. 20 minute wait for our drinks even though they took our order soon after we sat down. It took so long between orders and receiving anything that we were sure they had forgotten. The food is very good and very nicely prepared. The prices are very high.. high as the ceiling in this very cool remodeled church. I think everyone should go once.. the atmosphere is stunning although my throat was sore after trying to talk over the noise level. It may not be like that every night.. there were many customers there before going to the Beyoncé concert.

Really unique space inside an old church. Tommie R was a server and did a great job. The food was really delicious. Lotería de muerte cocktail was yummy too. I don’t usually like mole sauce but their mole is very good.

What a great dining experience! I love the atmosphere, the stained glass widows, the beautiful photos… plus the food and drinks are delicious and the staff is very friendly. Dining in a church was on my bucket list, thanks Noche for providing it!

First off the salsa and chips were great! They are not complimentary though like typical Mexican spots. The Birria tacos were yummy and I recommend going during happy hour to catch a margarita or two!

It is a fabulous place, pretty cool and the food is good. We had birria tacos with esquites, street asada tacos with rice and beans as sides and lamb. I loved the esquites and the tacos of birria. My husband said that the lamb was delicious and the street tacos of asada were good, but the rice wasn't soft. The salsa we had with the tacos seems like molcajete salsa, made in stone mortar (wow!), not too spicy but really delicious! I had a tequila Hornitos Reposado, and it was good, but it is not the best. It is a good option if you celebrate a birthday, reserve without 1 or 2 weeks before your event, you will have a free piece of 3 leches cake as courtesy for the birthday guy. We reserved on the 2nd floor, good atmosphere, but it was a little warm. The place does not have parking.

If y’all are in the area… check this place out. Food was great. The building and atmosphere is just so cool. We went with a big group of 10 and unfortunately we got lost in the shuffle near the end of the evening and waited a loooooong time for our food and drinks due to a (fairly) new wait staff that got sidelined by some tables that were being jerks to her on the lower level. She was so nice, and I feel bad she had to deal with them. And their point of sale machine unfortunately also (temporarily) went down… Just a perfect storm for our long wait times. That said, the staff was SUPER friendly. Food was excellent, drinks were good and manager on duty was great and apologetic for the issues. If you are in the area, I would highly recommend checking these folks out.

The atmosphere is like no other! What a great place! The food was wonderful! Everything we tried was phenomenal! Would highly recommend! At first I thought the prices were a bit high, but the taste, quality, and portions make it worth it!

It was a neat place and the food was good. Our service could have been better today so I'm giving a four stars we had a larger group and sat for quite a while between appetizers and ordering dinner. I didn't really feel the food was all that special but the presentation was great.
