This little hole in the wall resturaunt may not look it, but I put there food and service at the top of my list of sit-in resturaunts. There wings, there burgers, there ribs, is all emaculant, all the way to there store made barbeque sauce is some of the best grub/food in the Southend of Louisville, Kentucky. Which is a compliment to hands down the best service I've ever witnessed and been treated to in a sit-in place to eat. They really make you feel at ease and if your taken care of. My first and will be all time server was the most polite, respectful, and genuinely great at what she does was a young lady named Amanda, a average height girl with brown hair. The food was great, I can't/dont have a complaint 1, and i strongly avdvise you to eat here, and ask for Amanda as your server. And I promise you that you can't go wrong

Rubbies is my favorite place. Love the smoked wings and chicken tenders. The cod fish sandwich is the best in town. (Most of the time) A good place to have a celebration because they celebrate with you. Even Scott. So much fun to dance with the pig on your birthday. Makes a memorable party. Absolutely love Amanda

Top notch "dive" bar. I did a recon visit after reading a glowing review of the wings on a local website and I was not let down. The motor oil tenders were huge and, well, tender. The 911 heat on the motor oil sauce was enough to induce a little sweat and the flavor was excellent. The smoked wing bloody Mary was a perfect appetizer. Service from the bartender was prompt and efficient. Beer was cold. Food was good. Will definitely go back.

I have tried everything on the menu and last night was the first for the salmon patties and augratin potatoes and they were the best. When finished with dinner you should try this Skokie it is a chocolate chip cookie in the skillet with two scoops of ice cream and it is wonderful. Thanks Scott and all your crew for all the good food and the good times.

Great food - friendly staff and patrons! Still working my way down the menu! Had a great Bloody Mary made by a charming young lady! Had the wings which were excellent! Has that friendly neighborhood pub vibe! Gonna try to stop by more often!

Needed someplace open late. Called ahead after checking out menu and beer list online. We confirmed they were independently owned as we search for those types. Everything was awesome. Food great, wings delicious, staff very friendly. Glad we found it!

My husband and I love Rubbie's! It's our favorite restaurant in Louisville! We love both the smoked wings and Motor Oil wings! My husband always takes the extra sauce home! I love everything we have eaten there! We drive from Indiana to eat at Rubbie's! So good!!! You should ABSOLUTELY try this place if you haven't! I can't sing it's praises enough!

A friendly little grill with several delicious dishes and VERY friendly staff. 5 stars for nearly all of our dishes - Onion peddle appetizer (such a huge portion it's no joke), potatoes skins (a bit odd having raw onions, but super crispy skin), and the reason we came - the HOT BROWN sandwich. This is a classic in Louisville and their version here was very good! Really that cheese sauce pulls it through and makes it. Last, we had their cookie dessert which easily is for two and is super gooey. The 4 stars really is because of one of our dishes - Their BBQ "Spicy" sandwich. For being ranked highly for their BBQ, this was a disappointment across the board. It basically had no flavor. Even the chips somehow were super bland and mostly just tasted like oil. Not sure how that happened as, and I mean this, everything else we had was delicious!

My new favorite place! I got the roast beef special and it made me feel like I was at home with my mama. Also had bites of the smoked wings, potato strings, Mac, beans, etc. All AMAZING! I think anything of choice on the menu would be delicious, and I can't wait to go back and try more.

Called ahead to make sure the kitchen was open late - they kept it going until 12am! Excellent BBQ and sides for a late night adventure, and a ton of local bourbon for dessert! Scott and Summer were holding it down and made our experience an excellent one. Highly recommend you swing through this joint!

We came in town for the Jack-o-lantern spectacular on a Saturday night. Onion straws are really good. The liver is fantastic! I liked the fried chicken sandwich. Service was great also!!

We're here for a week long event and have eaten here twice. The food is good and the atmosphere is fun, but be prepared to wait for your food. Both nights it's taken 45 to 60 minutes to get the food out to us.

Great atmosphere for a casual meal. Food was good. Kitchen and or server were a bit off as we didn’t get the all the food we ordered and items were brought out very haphazardly.

Came here in part of hotbrown week. Ordered a bowl of chili with spaghetti, onions and cheese and a traditional hotbrown. Chili was okay to say the least and wasn’t anything spectacular but the hotbrown was delicious and very hearty. I’m not much of a bar person but for the hotbrown alone and kind of homey experience this place is worth paying a visit.

We went for dinner at 5:30 on a Tuesday and they were packed. They took great care of us and the food was delicious! The brisket was tender and juicy. My friend said the club was the best she ever had, others had the wings and raved about them. We will definitely be going back!! Good job !

3.5/5. I came in and was attended to quickly . Lady at bar was pleasant. I ordered smoke wings , a cheeseburger and fries. I thought this would be a bbq restaurant because that’s what I googled it but it’s actually a bar with plenty of seating inside and out. Food took around 40 minutes to get done and bagged for me. The burger was delicious (cheeseburger with pepper Jack cheese and lettuce only), the smoked wings had flavor. The fries disappointed. They came out looking fine but they were over cooked and felt like biting into a hard potato chip . Every bite turned to dust . I would try this place again . Has a decent menu but I would try to order something that seemed simple and fast next time to avoid a wait that long.

I enjoyed the food until the last time I got the wings. About half had feathers on them still. I couldn't eat those. I'm not sure that I'll go back after that. Up until that point, I was very pleased, but that REALLY grossed me out and may be a deal breaker.

This place was AMAZING! It was recommended by one of my coworkers and we loved it. Great bourbon selections and a fun environment. We got the hot brown (which we were told was really good), the truffle fries, and the Texas brisket sandwich. Would highly recommend all those items as they left us very satisfied! Especially the truffle fries…best I’ve ever had!

Wow. It's my 3rd time here 1st review... this place is much much more than barbecue! Today I had the fried fish - best fish in town! Better than Mike Linnigs, and definitely better prices. White linen table clothes and real silverware for $12pp. And, The cole slaw is the bomb. And, and, This place is an incredible museum for rock and roll and movie stars, come check it out it'll be worth it. prices awesome food incredible.
