Review Jumbo Buffet - Louisville

Very clean, nice restaurant. The layout and workers was great. Workers was great 👍. Food could use a little more umph. Mongolian grill seemed lacking on the sauce needed to make it taste flavorful.

If Im spending $10-$20 at fastfood, I might as well stop at Jumbo Buffet. These days you can pay $20 and get robbed. So for the quality you might as well come here for a good lunch. Great tasting, lots of variety. Family friendly.

I really loved this place a few years ago but now it has changed a lot. The host was great, but the waitress was not friendly at all to my wife and me. Once she gave us our drinks, i said thank you. she just walked away, and proceed to talk to the table behind us which was full of guys. she never asked us if we needed anything. But made sure the guys behind us were okay. We only stayed there for 30 or 45 minutes before leaving. There were not any crab legs, and a lot of the food had post-it notes with "dinner service" on them. Which I didn't find out until we paid that we were charged for dinner service. By that time, I was ready to go. My wife was also not happy with her food. I do not see us returning.

We tried this place on a Sunday dinner, I guess they have more variety on Sundays since we paid more ($16, heard from my friend they paid @ $11 during weekdays). We have a great dinner all we’re freshly cook and tasted great, just a little downside on the calamari and crab were a bit salty for our tastes. But hey! it’s like a mini trip to Asia with all of the food choices, we came home full and contented for just an affordable price!

Decent selection of food choices. Good customer service. Everything was fresh and clean. Price with a drink came out to just over $20 per person.

I went there for lunch. All the foods were good and my server was great. The price for adult dinner buffet was $15.99+tax+tip.

Recent remodel made this place much better , the food areas were well organized , very clean , and constantly maintained with good food . Atmosphere was familiar to it's old self , very nice eating areas for couples , or groups , the staff was excellent , and on top of everything , I will eat here again soon . Thank you Jumbo Buffet .

Food was great. Hot. A lot of selection. Friendly host. There is a robot that greets you at the door. Not sure how that works. I walked past it. They have a custom order grill. Lots of seating. Nice welcoming comfortable atmosphere. I think music was playing. Prices are high but that’s expected seeing how nice the place is. I gotten takeout. My total was around $24 for 3+ lbs of food. I would come here again.

Very clean buffet areas! Food was very good, hot and fresh! Very good seafood and best crab cheese bake I've had in ages! I will definitely go again!! Side note: Restrooms in need of remodel to be better maintained but were clean, and fans shouldn't be installed under a recessed light in the dining area because they create a strobe-light effect.

Loved the makeover. The AI robot was strange, but I didn't have to deal with it. I got a human so not worried about it. I came to treat my niece for her birthday. We were both looking forward to the Saturday night seafood. I was disappointed. They didn't have anything like what they used to have.

Everything is fresh and what's supposed to be hot is hot and what's supposed to be cold is cold. Sushi is wonderful. I do wish they would either cut the broccoli smaller or give me a knife to cut it. I don't know anyone who's mouth fits half a stalk of broccoli in it. Pieces of meat and veggies could be cut smaller.

Great food selection, everything was fresh and quality was great the service was professional

I edited this to address some of the ridiculous claims some of the reviewers posted. This place does NOT force you to tip, $45 for three people is not that much these days, especially for all you can eat, they do NOT yell at you about your bill, and they do not hover over it stare at you when you have their bill, and the food is NEVER cold unless it's supposed to be. I've been eating here for over a decade, and NONE of these things has ever happened. They recently renovated, and it's even nicer than before. The food is delicious and has a ton of America style Chinese and American quisine to choose from. Even if you don't like Chinese food and you're just there for friends, there are options for you. The staff is incredible, and they always have a fresh sushi bar and hibachi grill waiting for you. There's a movie theater next door, so it's a great place for a dinner/movie date with friends or a special someone!

Did not enjoy the waitress watching us eat. And basically rush us out. But that was one of two other then that we love it here. Food is second to none as for a buffet!

Many great memories with my friends and family. GREAT customer service. A waiter will ask you if everything is good Its overall a great place I definitely recommend and the food is also very good.

Very disappointing. Food not fresh at 12:45 pm, few items on buffet and the price was too high ($10.99) for lunch. Although it is a buffet, they fill your plate with little food.
The food is good. To some degree even surprisingly good, considering that it is a buffet. Service is very friendly and prompt. No complaints.

I like Jumbo, it makes for a nice lunch before walking across the parking lot to the movie theater. Yes its not the worlds best chinese or sushi but its a CHINESE BUFFET ...I don't expect gourmet. They have a big variety of your normal buffet items and the sushi is fresh and well prepared.

I haven't eaten here in a long time, but today I was at Stoneybrook and in the mood for something more or less Chinese themed. So I stopped in. It hasn't changed much, but there are few things to note.

They no longer have the big yummy pot stickers. They have gone with the typical frozen ones every other place like this serves.

They now keep sushi on hand, and even deep fry some of them. Rather than doing the whole roll, it looks like the batter and fry individual pierces. It's ... Interesting.

They have chicken rice wrapped in lotus leaves and steamed. I've never had that before, it was...Interesting.

They have black mussels now. They were overdone and dry.

Besides these things they had the usual roster of mixed American and Chinese American eats. The place seemed clean and the decor is a bit nicer than some similar venues. The acoustics are not the best, so you hear a lot of clatter and other background noise.

In summary, if you are in the area, to see a movie perhaps, and in the mood for a big meal, they have that. If you are in the area and it is lunch time Tuesday through Friday, I would suggest heading on up the road to Plainview for something similar, but better..

My buddy and I went to Jumbo Buffet for the first time, we had never been there. We have been to many buffet restaurants in the Louisville, Ky. but our experiences there were that we both decided that Jumbo Buffet deserved a top rating. He thought it deserved at least a 10 and I thought it was the best buffet we had ever been to. We had lunch there on a Tuesday. It wasn't very crowded, the patrons are spread around the perimeter of the restaurant and the buffet is in mostly towards the center. The service is courteous and prompt and lunch is not very expensive and well worth the cost at $8.47 per person plus tips.

Worst Chinese. Worst food in Louisville, current health department rating C!

How were there so many people in this buffet? The food was bland and, quite frankly, terrible. Egg rolls had no flavor, I had to add salt and pepper to the hot and sour soup, and the pot stickers weren't cooked all of the way through. I will not be eating here again- and for the price of $13, I think I would have rather thrown my money away.

Last chance. This buffett has gone down hill the last 2 years, we gave it one more chance friday night 6/29/12 the food has no taste or a bad taste. the rice taste like soap, I could go on and on. I was sick to see a 27.00 dollar tab. I noticed my 3rd refill of tea ( small glass, oh! no ice on the refills) was the last refill, well that will be our last trip. good day jumbo price for very subpar food

No way, never again. The best entree on the buffet was at best mediocre. Neither my wife nor I ate very much but when we left we felt like absolute crap. Absolutely miserable to the point that the rest of our day's plans were cancelled. We were on a serious MSG overdose. No way in hell. If I wanted to pay somebody for pain, I'd go to a dominatrix.

Never again. The food was either bland or gross. Worst excuse for Chinese food I've ever had. The only thing I liked were the fried potatoes (and you can get fries anywhere) and the self-serve ice cream.

The service was not great. I wasn't offered a drink until my third plate, and when I asked for water without ice (twice emphasizing NO ice), I was given water with ice. At least they kept the tables clear.

The buffet is over-priced. After taxes and tip, it's about $15 per person!! For grossness!

What surprised me was how crowded the place was. I know it was a weekend and right next to the theater, but how does they manage getting repeat business? The crowd made it tough to navigate the narrow buffet isles and doorways to the dining area.

I recommend steering clear of Jumbo Buffet. Even Panda Express is more acceptable if you're craving Chinese.

13dollars a person for crap food, the chicken was fatty and chewy, the crab Rangoon was just a bunch of fried dough, no crab and a smudge of curdled cream cheese... The restrooms reeked and a worker didn't wash their hands...oh and the dumpling were the sorriest of dumplings I have ever seen!

My favorite Chinese buffet in town. I really enjoy getting carry out for lunch. If you show up within 15 minutes or so after they open, though, a lot of dishes aren't out yet. I don't know why- it's not like they don't open at the same time every day.
The chicken is usually good quality (few chewy/fatty pieces, like you sometimes get at "Chinese" restaurants.) It's unfortunate that they no longer allow you to take sushi in the carry out boxes (you have to pay a separate price now for a set number of pieces), but it is understandable. Before, you could theoretically fill up several boxes of sushi for a pretty low price, since they charge by the pound.

Very good for lunch. First, I have one rule for Chinese buffets...lunch only. Why spend the extra dough for dinner to get maybe a little more seafood, as is the usual case? I don't go to a Chinese joint for seafood anyway. I hit this place once every couple weeks since I work in Jtown. I have yet to leave disappointed or hungry...and yes if a buffet sucks you can leave hungry. The Mongolian Beef, as noted by another reviewer, is way above average. Very flavorful and it makes me sweat slowly as the heat builds by bite. Yes, that is what I want from that dish! The Mongolian grill is open for lunch, nice touch. Sushi on the buffet, not great but hey I kinda view that as free sushi with the price and it is fresh and plump, so why not? So far my favorite lunch Chinese buffet here, way better than that place over by Liquor Barn.

Try the Kabobs. Somewhat expensive, but definitely above average in the often bland spectrum of Chinese buffets. Featuring a cook to order Mongolian Grill and all you can eat crab legs, we have never been disappointed with the food or the selection. My favorite item is the chicken kabobs which are char-grilled with onions.

Much better than the China 8 buffet located just down the street.

Unique variey. They offer several different choices I haven't seen on an Asian Buffet before such as frog legs and boiled crawfish. I like the Mongolian Beef the best but everything is very tasty. Out of all the Asian Buffets I've tried thus far in Louisville this one seems to be my favorite for consistently having well stocked fresh food and variety. The fact that it's convenient to the Stoneybrook theater doesn't hurt either!

Another... Where I wish I had a "just ok" button. For the money I don't think it offers enough.

Jumbo Buffet is a most befitting name as they offer a lot of different foods. It is certainly one of the larger buffets we've been to. The octopus salad was my favorite. Cold, chewy, firm, and spicy. The egg foo young was
