Treated with class from the start! Our server was prompt, sweet and explained the menu as this was our first time. She recommended a delicious cocktail and brought our food steaming hot. Surprise was the amazing chai cheesecake compliments of the chef since we were from out of town. Definitely recommend this gem of a place.
Incredible food, awesome service, great atmosphere!! Started with egg rolls and hot and sour soup. Very good and spicy. Finished with General chicken with egg fried rice. Amazing flavor!! Our server Astin was awesome!! So friendly and attentive.

I love the flavors of the food here. Everything tastes so fresh and yummy. I had the ahi tuna salad and the chili basil dressing was great. Service was good too. Will definitely be back.
Great food. The main entrees are huge! We normally do appetizers and split an entrée which is plenty... We have NEVER been disappointed. Great value and quality. Would recommend for any occasion!
The August moon is one of those places I forget about at lunch time but should remember. Went there again today for late lunch and the service, food, and portions were excellent. I was so full I almost skipped dinner later. The menu has a wide range of tastes and each one I have tried has left me wondering why I don't eat there every day. It is a very relaxing and classy setting with great food. I will be back!
Why I haven't I tried this sooner?. August Moon is a great option for chinese/fusion cuisine that's affordable and delicious. All the dishes at the table were tasty and interesting with large portion sizes. The beef in the Mongolian beef was surprisingly tender and moist for a stir-fry. Vegetables in basil sauce provided an great selection of vegetables in a spicy, sweet sauce. Desserts were amazing as well and very fresh. I will admit that I eat a lot of take-out Chinese and really have to disagree with the reviewers that claim they can get much better food from take-out joints. This is not a chunk of deep-fried meat smothered in a so-so sauce type of place.
Service was friendly and attentive. Also enjoyed the patio that is secluded from the road. Check for two people including soups, entrees, desserts, coffees, half a bottle of wine and tip came to $75. Will certainly be going back!
Best ever service! Glad we gave another chance!. A couple of friends and I decided to try August Moon again, and it was superb! Our server, Kat, was hilarious! She made us feel like we were old friends, she was an absolute pro with a dynamic personality. The food was also stellar, perfectly timed. We finished our appetizers, our plates were cleared, new plates furnished and dinner was served...very smooth! We are a picky bunch I must admit, but hands down this was the best service/restaurant experience we have had in a very long time! Keep it up!!!! Oh, the pita bread served with the mussels was the perfect touch! Thank you!
Makes me like Chinese. I've never been much for eating Chinese, until we came to August Moon. Started with a chicken spring roll (with sweet & sour or spicy mustard sauce). A good taste to it. The breading was a little like a fried hot apple turnover. I had the general chicken with color pepper, brocolli and spicy ginger sauce. It was the best dish I've ever had at a Chinese restaurant. The atmosphere and decor were very plesent as well. Definately will be eating more Chinese here.
I'm not sure what to say about this place. Both dishes that my party ordered were lacking in the flavor department. My sweet and sour chicken tasted just like what you can get from double dragon. The atmosphere was nice an intimate. But the flavors are lacking.
I have mixed feeling about this place. I have had great dishes and those that are strange. Overall great Asian fusion on par with asiatique for less $$$
This is my favorite restaurant. The ambience is good, service is excellent. Quiet romantic place. Food is rich in taste and flavour. Love it!!
Definitely would return. It was our first trip to August Moon and for the most part pleasant. Food was delicious. If you are a coffee fan, definitely try the Vietnamese coffee, it was wonderful. The only down side of our trip was our waitress, I don' t want to say she was terrible, but I felt that we were rushed the entire time and the restaurant wasn't packed at the time we were there. I was finishing up the dumpling appetizer that my husband and I were spltting and she took the plate away from me before I was even finished with the dipping sauce. That was only one of several little things, but we would definitely return, what's the chances of getting the same waitress again. :-)
Three of us decided to give August Moon a try, and we're pleasantly surprised not only by the food, but the impeccable service!
We all tried various apps and first flavors from soups to dumplings... the soups we found to be pretty good, while dumplings and wontons were average.
While sampling those we each got different house cocktails, and all three were wonderful. Would definitely recommend giving one a try!
For the main courses, the food was prepared wonderfully, much more so than the first flavors... both meats and veggies were cooked perfectly. Spice level was definitely there in some of the spicy dishes, to be expected, but didn't overpower the flavor. Fish was cooked absolutely perfect and pillowy soft.
Service was some of the best I've had recently. Very attentive, personable, and really cared about our dining experience.
Food was so good! We got chicken fried rice and general tso’s chicken as well as pan fried dumpling for an appetizer. There was also a live singer and she was fantastic. Highly recommend!
I had my Mom's 100th birthday party at August Moon on July 29, 2023. The food, service, etc. was fantastic!!! Yandi and Staff went above and beyond the call of duty to ensure the event was a raging success!!! Thank you from the bottom of my heart🤎. We will always, extol the virtues of August Moon!!!
One of the best upscale Chinese restaurants in Louisville. Lots to choose from with dishes that abound with flavor. Attractive decor and good service make this a place to stop for a tasty and relaxing Chinese meal. Outside seating available. Overlooking Beargrass Creek. During busy times a reservation is recommended.
Visited again 1/23 and again had a wonderful meal in a relaxed atmosphere. Grouper was good. Would have liked a larger piece however.
This place, from food, outstanding customer service, to atmosphere it's always grand at the Bistro. Thus far for being out-of -towners, my husband and I have visited three times and not once have we had a bad experience. We really enjoy it here.
Good food and great service. Seated guests at well spaced tables which we appreciated. We spent long time after meal chatting and never felt rushed. We will definitely return.

Food was good! It was nice seeing the owner there making sure everyone was OK. We were getting food to go so we didn't get the full in-house experience.
First time here, and it was so good! I shared a chicken satay with peanut sauce appetizer with my dinner companion. It was so delicious. For my main, I had scallops with Malaysian curry. My friend had shrimp with walnuts. We both ended up taking home a good portion of our main dish. My leftovers were almost as good when I reheated & finished them off later.
I will definitely come back. Next time, I want to try the General Chicken.
This is a lovely restaurant. We enjoyed the pork dumplings, ribs, chicken egg roll, tempura shrimp and the chicken in the mango-passion fruit sauce. The food was delicious. The shrimp were huge. The sauces were light and very tasty. Our new favorite.
And the free parking lot was very much appreciated.
August Moon has an amazing atmosphere (work lunch, Dinner, kid friendly, etc….) & it’s well priced also. The food is delicious with tons of multiple options to choose from and it’s in a great location in town I recommend August Moon to everyone.

One of the few local Chinese spots that you can sit down and eat at. The food is good if a bit over priced, the only food that was disappointing was the fried rice, very bland. Everything Rose was delicious! The Vietnamese coffee is a must if you’re a coffee lover like me. If you want good chinese this is a good place to go.

Delicious, authentic Chinese food. Prices are fairly reasonable, but portions are large. They’ve got a great happy hour as well. I recommend ordering their house brewed tea, they bring you out your own personal iron tetsubin pot! Only complaint is that service is fairly slow.
The Calamari was so thick and delicious 🤤🫶 we got the tuna salad that was A+
