The food is SOOO good here. Wine selection is fantastic! Jeans, dress shirt and sport coat is plenty. Steak was amazing! The calamari was amazing! Sides were, you guessed it, amazing! Servers were really well versed and know their stuff! Did I mention the wine? They have a wonderful selection and a wide price range to choose from. I highly recommend this place!!!
The yellowfin tuna was very tasty and well prepared. Great selection of bourbon also. Service at the bar (not busy) was a bit slow and inattentive at times.
Nice upscale environment. Food was excellent. Service should have been better considering the premium price. On the slow side for table attendence. They didn't clean the crumbs/pepper off the table or serve the alacarte sides onto the entre plate. This may sound pretentious but again for the prices ($80/steak) it should be part of the dining experience.
We went here for my daughter’s 16th birthday and as usual everything was amazing. The food, the staff and the service. They went the extra mile to make sure our dinner was extra special for her. I’m not sure if you can request a specific server there but if you can you should absolutely ask for Jessica. I’ve had the pleasure of dining with her twice she she’s so sweet, has a great knowledge of food and beverages and definitely loves what she does. She also makes a bananas foster you just want to put your face in lol. You can’t go wrong with anything on the menu and the atmosphere is perfect for any occasion.
The sweet potato side dish was excellent. We were part of a very large party (about 50 people). One waitress was fabulous, going out of her way to make sure I was notified of anything with onions in it, as I'm allergic. She was very sweet. The cook just couldn't get my steak right. I never send food back but I can't eat rare steak & that's how it was served, twice. Finally got it right & boy was it yummy! The Old Fashioned with private label burbon was tasty, for my 1st Old Fashioned.
Oh my!! The steak was to die for!!! Best steak I have every had in my whole life!! Service was great!! We will definitely go again!!
Jacob (our server) created a dining experience for us that was genuine and appreciated. We were very impressed with the way we were taken care of. Definitely will return!
My husband and I love Eddie Merlot's. We been there several times. We were there last night for our 15th anniversary. Our server, Bonifacio was the best. So courteous, knowledge, professional and attentive. Highly recommend to everyone. Ambience is perfect. Food cooked perfect. Filet mignon was tender, juicy and cooked the way we ordered. I loved my meal, New Orleans Mixed Grill.

Great stop off point on 4th street to have a cocktail. Bartenders are very friendly and drinks are always good.
I recently was there for a group dinner and though it is a good way to experience a restaurant there are often struggles with this. However we had a group of 42 and the servers were very attentive with the food was done well. We had started with appetizers: the calamari was some of the most tender and flavorful I have had in a long time and the scallops wrapped in bacon were very tender and sweet. Myself and my companion had a filet for the main meal and it was well prepared, not over seasoned tender and tasteful. Some of the sides with corn were wonderful and well put together. I would definitely recommend the chocolate cake as my dining companion loves sweets and enjoyed the taste and no over the top chocolate (as too often they are). This is definitely a spot I would recommend to stop in and try.
Great restaurant. Large menu, great service and large drink selection. Obviously a pricy place but you get what you pay for.
Service was great! My daughter and I split a steak that was pretty good although we did have to send it back to be cooked a little longer. We were seated in the back corner of the restaurant next to a window that overlooked the inside of an old empty building. I wish we would have had a better table with a better view because the inside decor of the restaurant was beautiful! A little disappointed especially considering we made a reservation.
I've been here 3 times and this was the best experience of the 3. Last 2 times the only complaint I had was the food took too long between courses.
Other than that the taste, quality, atmosphere and service are all well done. The staff was very attentive and the wine selection was great for a novice like me.
I'm glad I went the 3rd time because the experience was much better. Give it a try. Louisville is definitely moving forward in fine dining choices
