We ate here 14 + years ago on our way home from our honeymoon and we’ve been eating here ever since. Everything is so good. Love the variety of cuisines.

Ramsi's cafe is a great place when you are in mood for something different. The place is a cocktail of world food with the best of everything. The place has a lot of vegan options as well. The Egyptian kitchen was great with the fusion of Egyptian and Italian cuisine. The staff is really great and helpful. The place has its own character with the artifacts and outdoor decor.
I would like to visit again and try out something new.

My husband and I went for a LATE dinner at Ramsi's. We arrived a little after 11pm on Saturday night. The place was fairly full, but we were seated immediately. The host asked us if we would like to sit in the room with the piano player or in a quieter room. We choose the quieter room. I started out with a dizzy ginger cocktail ($9.00). For dinner my husband chose the greek salad with chicken ($13.95) and I opted for the Empress
chicken ($15.75). The greek salad was large and was made with fresh feta cheese, which was delicious! The only complaint was that the olives were not pitted. The salad came with two sides of dressing, but one was plenty. My Empress chicken was very good, but a little spicy for my taste. It was served over basmati rice with broccoli and mushrooms. For me personally a little less sauce would have made it perfect. We have been to Ramsi's several times and try to get something different every time.

I personally enjoy brunch. But being vegetarian I have very less options. And I found this place. They have lot of options for vegetarians. My wife and friends like their live omelette counter also. Pastries after brunch were simply delicious. So if you want to spend some time with friends and family then definitely must visit place. It is better to book table in advance.

Ramsi’s Cafe on the World was one of the restaurants I found and requested we visit specifically when my family took a trip to Louisville earlier this year (January to be exact, I’m just a touch behind on sharing my restaurant reviews 😉 ). The website for Ramis’s Cafe describes its cuisine as “global comfort food.”

Absolutely fabulous restaurant. When the weather is right, the front patio is very pleasant for a meal. Located on Bardstown Road, this gem is better in the lively neighborhood of the highlands. The menu is fantastic--especially for a picky vegetarian! Don't short change yourself by only visiting during lunch and dinner hours, though-- Ramsey's has a delicious brunch on the weekends as well!

Visited based on recommendations from a few friends. I found the menu to be very overwhelming with so many choices and cuisines featured. I was disappointed by my choice however it was still good. However I was jealous of others dishes. My advice is to be bold and go out of your comfort zone here!

Ramsi's. I had something with chicken and cream, which is generally a pretty good combination, so...I guess I liked it. Disappointed by the price vs. amount of food, but the food was tasty and outdoor seating was a perk. Service nearly non existent, we went 30 minutes before having our drink order taken, but who goes there for the service?

Sunday Buffet is awesome!. The food here is great! The Sunday Brunch buffet pretty much has everything you could want and they keep it well stocked. The lunch here is also great and I have not gotten anything that I did not like. I have never ben in for dinner as I live a bit away and usually go while on errands in Louisville.

Ordinarily this is a very friendly atmosphere. Our group of friends always eat here for our birthdays so we met on Friday the 28th. The restaurant was not crowded, no wait but the waitress made a huge deal out of where we sat. It was very hot inside so we sat in the patio area again explain to waitress the table was too small ask for a large table another waitress came up and said there is a reservation at this table so if they come we would have to ask you to leave. I wanted to leave my wife said no, she helped the waitress carry a table to put at the end. Just very disappointed with the way we were treated. Food was great just not great service. After all of that no one ever came to the bigger table.

Terrific!!!. We just tried Ramsi's for the first time and it was excellent in every way! Included in our group were a mix of ages and eating preferences, including strict vegetarians and meat eaters. Everyone loved what they got. I had the fish tacos which were just fabulous! Dessert was to die for...we tried the flourless chocolate cake. Wow! Atmosphere was so interesting and the service was the best I have ever had in any restaurant. Highly recommend Ramsi's. I only wish I lived closer so I could go more often!

Love Sunday Brunch!. We have enjoyed the Sunday brunch many times since moving to Louisville, but we have not dined for lunch or dinner. Our favorites at the brunch include Gorgonzola chicken, nachos, cheese tortellini, made to order omelets, and chocolate raspberry trifle for dessert. The price includes unlimited milk and orange juice. The place is always packed for Sunday brunch and the waiting area is very small, so we would recommend getting there as early as possible. This restaurant is a must when showing visitors the great food in Louisville.

A fav!. I was visiting Louisville for a few weeks and was taken here. Wow, I was blown away by the food; so much that we had to go back a second time! Grilled thick bread with goat cheese and garlic in oil for appetizer, eggplant parmesan for an entree (spaghetti on the side), delicious smartini for a drink, and carrot cake for dessert. It was all SOOOO good. Their menu is excellent. This place is a bit expensive but I loved it and wish we had a Ramsi's back where I live. HIGHLY recommended!

One of the best. Ramsi's is one of my absolute favorites. I will say I am saddened they removed the chicken sandwich from the menu but I am told it may come back in time. That said, there isn't anything on the menu I would say not to try. It's all amazing.

The Sunday brunch is just delicious. If you go, go hungry so you can sample all they have to offer.

We love to sit outside during warm weather and watch the people go by. Inside is cozy and the atmosphere is fun and eclectic.

The prices are fair and even if you are on a budget, you are sure to find something you can enjoy without breaking the bank.

I've been going to Ramsis since the beginning. It's always horrible service, but delicious food. If you are willing to eat with terrible service, it's worth going. The food is amazing, but they did change their menu. It's definitely not as great. Also, they tend to run out of menu items a lot. Somehow we keep going back.

Comfort Food. I have been visiting Ramsi's since he opened, and there was 1 small dining room. This place is my comfort spot to go to when every other restaurant sounds just ok or too expensive. You cannot beat the veggie stir fry or the pollo nuevo havana. Salads and soups are terrific! My daughter is so pleased when she gets "real chicken" in her kids meal(and so am I). Ramsi is very generous and runs a fantastic place for those of us who just want to relax with comforting food.

Good Vegetarian Options. I've been here several times, and each time I am pleased with the experience. Ramsi's is one of the few great places in Louisville that serves a variety of vegetarian dishes and stays open late, too. I like coming here for a drink, an appetizer of their thinly sliced onion rings, and a sandwich served with potatoes.

Everyone has to go at least once.... If you like trying different kinds of food from different countries this is the place to go. Ramsi's has unique and exotic dishes. There's always a full house for dinner time, that right there should tell you a lot. The owner's, from what I hear, are very nice people who take pride in their restaurant. Everyone should try it at least once, because I'm sure they'll have you hooked!

Fish Sandwiches. I have been to Ramsi's many times throughout the years I've lived in Louisville. The two fish sandwiches I've had there are very tasteful. If you like white fish try Selma's Favorite Fish Sandwich. Its dressed with a caper tartar sauce that sets it apart from anything I've had before. The Foccacia buns are big, and somewhat overwhelming, but overall the sandwhich is delicious. It is served with home fries ( baked potatoes, garnished). The other sandwich is the Smoked Salmon Panini. The cream cheese and hardboiled egg, along with the capers add a punch of flavor that is light and healthy. It is easier to eat than the Selma sandwich. If your looking for fish, try these two sammys.

Heaven for vegetarians. As a vegetarian, this is my restaurant. I can't think of even one other place where I have so many menu options. There are tons of vegan options too. Even so, almost every time I'm there I tend to get the Jamaican tofu sandwich. It's totally delicious and addicting. There's a garlic and goat cheese appetizer that's pretty much amazing also. My only issue with this place is that there isn't much seating. Don't even try to go there on a Friday or Saturday night unless you want to wait a few hours. They don't take reservations either, so there's no getting around the very long wait.

Seriously, one of the best in town!. I adore this place! I simple cannot say it enough, the menu is huge but every dish is delicious and well thought-out! The Pollo Nuevo Havana (made with fish instead of chicken, but both are amazing) and the Egyptian Kitchen are some of my all time favorites. The drink menu is always great and inspired, with an extensive beer and wine list as well. If it's cold or too hot, the inside has decor from around the world, so you always have things to stimulate you as you look around. If the weather is nice, they have outside dining near their soothing fountain under gorgeous vines. There are statues and interesting things to look at everywhere. Their menu is very diverse and very tasty. I love the Pollo Nuevo Havana, as well as the Cubean Burrito, the Greek Salad, Foccacia Bread, the TORTELLINI GRACIELLA, EGGPLANT PARMESAN, Z-MAN TOURNEDOS and the CHICKEN GORGONZOLA. Two Items That Rock. I've eaten at Ramsi's a handful of times and never been floored by anything (including service) except for two appetizers. Drum roll, please. I LOVE the Honey Almond Crusted Brie and the Veggie Tempura!

Obviously Brie is amazing to begin with, but this presentation, so much yummier than the standard raspberry sauce, makes me want to eat two of them.

Like most Southerners, deep fried anything is probably gonna attract me, but this tempura takes it to another level. Light, crispy, never heavy or greasy, this was my gateway preparation for asparagus.

Good visit. We ate here once. Good food everyone was happy with their food choice. My mother had crab cakes and said it was the best she's ever had. They need to clean up the place a little. The carpet was stained and ripping. My chair got tangled in the torn carpet many times. With a remodel, I might visit more often, but without it would just be a once a year or so adventure.

Color me shocked. We showed up without a reservation and had to wait about an hour and a half (our fault, not the restaurants) but let me tell you what... Freaking WORTH IT. I tried the Sari Wrap, the Punjabi Samosas, and the banana trifle. All top teir dishes that just blew me out of the water. None of it seemed like it was nuked in a microwave, because it nuked me out of my senses. I literally almost cried trying the Sari Wrap. Everything tasted very traditional and authentic, the people were lovely, the atmosphere was wonderful. 10/10 would go again next time I'm in Louisville. Heck, I might come up just for Ramsi's. Maybe next time we will make a reservation! 🤣

I had a great Sunday evening dining experience at Ramsi's Cafe on the World. Here are some noteworthy aspects of my visit that might be useful in planning your trip: Providing that weather is decent, off-street parking in the surrounding area should suffice. I recommend you allow 30-60 minutes for a leisurely walk to the venue. As a bonus, one to three laps around the area can help work up an appetite. Judging from the lack of a crowd upon arrival, reservations seemed unnecessary — but I still recommend going through OpenTable for the peace of mind and the points. Whether you dine indoors or outdoors on the patio, Ramsi's is packed with low-key conversation pieces that create a novel but relaxed atmosphere. The patio is optimal in my book, however. As far as the menu goes, there is something for everybody on this menu. The drink menu had some intriguing sours and the appetizer menu had several temptations. Ultimately, however, I went with the tortellini graciella with chicken, which I understand to be a house favorite, and the staff thoughtfully prepared a stir-fry with grouper (fish), potatoes, and other mixed vegetables, which after many visits to the kitchen our thoughtful, kind, and pleasant waiter, Sol, helped arrange (as my girlfriend needed an option that was 100% free of egg, dairy, gluten, cane sugar, and oats). Just in case we wanted more of a kick, Sol even brought us some cracked black pepper and red pepper flakes, which were greatly appreciated. We will absolutely return in the future. The jerk tortellini has been on my mind ever since Sol mentioned it as a possibility for the next visit. 🤤

We went here for dinner on Friday night. We didn't have a reservation, but we got seated right away. We sat outside. At first, I was impressed by the building and design. The place is beautiful. When we went, the place was packed. Nevertheless, the service was good. The menu is full of food around the world. We tried the focaccia, and we immediately regretted not getting a large. It has simple ingredients, yet it was delicious. We ordered a burger and ribs. It was cooked perfectly and delivered to our table hot. The flavoring was amazing. We ordered wine, but we realized that we just paid $32 for a wine that you can buy for $15 at Walmart. Overall, we will definitely come back to order more focaccia and try the other food in the menu.

This place is a gem. There was something for everyone there on the menu. We were a fairly large group and everyone raved about there food and experience there. The service was good, and the food was even better. Their menu is so eclectic, just like the environment. I ordered the east meets south fajitas and it was very tasty. The portion sizes were good as well. I had enough for left overs and was happy to finish my food for breakfast, but unfortunately it was accidentally tossed it. Let's just say I was crushed! I will most definitely be back and I'm sure the guest I dined with would be back as well whenever we are back in Kentucky.

We had a GREAT experience here today!! This was our first time here and I cannot wait to eat here again. Our server was Soul (or Solè?) and he was TERRIFIC!!! He was honestly one of the best servers I have ever had. He was fast, took care of us, explained every single menu item we asked about and even some we didnt know we wanted to try and helped me not waste money immensely. I was going to order a side of potatoes after we ordered our entree and both meals but instead of adding it like most servers would, he told me to try a potato off my husbands plate because these potatoes are cooked differently and are not like people think and if I like them he will get them cooked super fast and bring them out. I tried a bite and didnt like it at all and would have wasted them and the money. I couldnt stop thanking him. He also mentioned the goat cheese and bread appetizer when we were asking what to get and it was INCREDIBLE. I had never tried that before. The steak my husband had was cooked to perfection and the cheese tortellini with chicken mushrooms and pesto cream sauce was SO SO SO good. The servings are really big too so we took them to go. And the prices arent bad either. If every dining experience is like the one we had today I would eat out so much more and I would come to this place every week. I think everyone should try this place. I cannot wait to try the east meets south fajitas next.

I hadn’t been to Ramsi’s in a long time due to living so far out. I am always impressed when I get to grab a bite from here, but tonight we had a fabulous server who went above and beyond. It’s hard to dine with a toddler but she made it so much easier ! She even brought him a book to keep him entertained. The food was also 10/10. Can’t wait to visit again soon. I wish I remembered names better but whoever the server was with the green outfit and pretty long braid you made our night!

Delicious!! Great service. The food was really tasty and the servings were large. Definitely enough for 2 meals. The roasted garlic and goat cheese appetizer was amazing!

Ramsi’s is consistently, one of the most interesting menus and eclectic restaurants in Louisville! Super fun vibe both inside and on the enclosed patio. Something for everyone here. Excellent friendly service.

Grouper and crab cakes was 10/10 one of the best dinners I’ve ever been served. Perfectly prepared and just awesome. Waitress told us she’s worked there for 23 years and obviously loved it here. The appetizers and dessert (baklava sundae) were equally good. Food was served piping hot and super well time. Ambiance is A+. Such a cool place.

Very neat place. Good menu that make me have hard time to decide which one because most of them looks good. I decided to do something different that I haven't tried. I ordered Eygpt Kitchen with poached egg. It is very good. I quite enjoyed it. I would love to come back and visit for few more dishes.

This place was amazing and I will definitely be going back! First they have so many different types of dishes to pick from! They have Egyptian, Italian, Spanish, Columbian, thi, and much more different variations of foods all over the world. So this is a great place to go if no one can decide on a restaurant. Our group had the pollo nuevo havana dish, the tortellini graciella, hoisin tuna, curried chicken and shrimp, and the Kosta burger. No one at the table had complaints about their dishes and they all looked delicious! Additionally, they had a pretty decent wine list at reasonable prices. Plus the atmosphere was cool, it felt like we were in a Bookstore/Cafe kind of shop with lots of interesting decorations from around the world. This is not a restaurant you can fully experience I'm one visit!

WOW!!! 🌟🎂🎈 This has been the best birthday restaurant on Bardstown Rd. The staff was above and beyond friendly, the food was incredible. I called to reserve a table for my Mom and Uncles 53rd Birthday, I asked the staff member on the phone if I would be able to bring my own cake & they said “Yes of course we’ll even cut and plate it for you”. When they brought us our slices my mom and uncles had lit candles, strawberries and chocolate sauce included 🥹 our server was very thoughtful & helpful. For dinner tonight we ordered: 🥘 🍗 🍄 -Medjool Dates Luscious dates and goat cheese, served warm. (Vegetarian) -Louis Marsala Chicken breast sautéed with mushrooms in Marsala wine. With mashed potatoes and shrimp garnish. -East Meets South Fajitas Beef strips, sautéed bell peppers and onions, Mexican rice, sour cream and guacamole. With Indian Paratha for wrapping. -Pollo nuevo havana blackened chicken breast, tamarindo jalapeno sauce, boursin cheese. with basmati rice, stir-fried vegetables. -Chicken Parmesan Chicken, lightly breaded, marinara and Parmesan on Cuban bread. For drinks we ordered: 🍹 🍺 🍷 -Old Fashioned buffalo trace bourbon, angostura, sugar, orange peel -Budweiser - The Forbidden tequila blanco, lime, pomegranate, chili rim Overall the experience here at Ramsi’s cafe was wonderful and I will surely be back for more celebrations at this restaurant. My favorite was the Louis Marsala, the chicken was so tender and the mix with mashed potatoes was delicious. 10/10 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

We had dinner here - Really fun eclectic menu. Brie Bernadette appetizer was amazing - so yummy. Fish tacos and ribs of the Caribbean for entrees were good. I was not a fan of the Z grilled potatoes though. They didn’t have a lot of flavor IMHO. I had the house made ginger beer to drink. It was not really sweet but kinda spicy. Ok to try but I wouldn’t care for it again. My friend had a wonderful purple cocktail with a flower that was incredible. Can’t find the name on the internet but it was great.
