Review Big L's Barbeque - Louisburg

This big boy sandwich right here is known to locals as the "Spare Tire." I went ahead and tried it based on the waitresses recommendation and this thing was killer! The monster sized knife was also delightfully funny to cut into the sandwich with along with its great presentation. Overall the restaurant has a great family atmosphere and reasonable prices! Would recommend it to anyone who loves BBQ.

One of the lowest quality BBQ restaurants I’ve ever been to. We waited 30+ minutes for two sandwiches to go. I ordered a Carolina pulled pork sandwich, but once we got to our destination I was disappointed to see it was a regular pork sandwich instead. Though the pork and sauce were pretty decent, the brisket we got was dry and just awful. To top it off the potato salad was beyond bland; so much so that I couldn’t even eat it. Too much great BBQ in Kansas City to waste time eating here. Staff was very friendly at least.

The food is really good. It's perfect for family dinners and the service was wonderful.

My Family and I were passing through on our way to Pittsburgh, Kansas from Kansas City and we are so GLAD WE DID!!! Now I am a Native BBQ Queen, I live down the street from Gates, I am uber familiar with all different types of BBQ from KC and other states in the U.S. and burnt ends of all kinds, needless to say it is my favorite type of food. I ordered the special for today the Burnt End BBQ sandwich and fries, and my stepmom ordered the Smoked Catfish, the potato salad and the coleslaw. EVERYTHING WE HAD WAS SO DELICIOUS!!! That Burnt end sandwich with the HOUSEMADE BBQ SAUCE was better than Jack Stacks and one of the BEST burnt end sandwiches I have ever had!!! Tender, thick delicious smoke ring, the BBQ sauce was sweet and delicious!!! One of the best BBQ sauces I've ever tasted!!! The fries were housemade potato fries and seasoned just right!!! They were both delicious!!! The smoked catfish was SOOOOO GOOD!!! I've never had smoked catfish before before but boyo boy was it worth it!!! The potatoe salad and coleslaw were perfectly seasoned and delicious!! This was one the Best meals I have ever HAD!!! Goodness it was good!!! I have it saved in my phone now as a favorite restuarant, so if you are ever passing through DEFINITELY CHECK THIS DELICIOUS RESTAURANT OUT!!! IT IS WORTH EVERY PENNY!! Worth the stop!! Worth driving just to taste the deliciousness that is this restaurant!!!

I ate here several weeks ago with one of sons. He had a bbq pizza and I had a BBQ sampler plate. Oh and I can't forget. We ordered a side of corn nuggets! The corn nuggets are worth the trip by themselves! The pizza was absolutely amazing. The bbq sauce complimented the topping on the pizza very well. Additionally the bbq sampler was to die for. 10 out of 10 will deffently eat here again.

I do not recommend… I don’t like leaving negative reviews for any restaurant if I don’t have to but I need to warn ppl. First off, a basic burnt ends bbq sandwich is like 10 bucks just itself- that doesn’t include fries or a side. That costs extra so RIP OFF. Also, the bbq was mostly fat. So in all your basically paying for fat. If they keep selling fatty bbq and don’t lower the price I don’t expect them to be around long.

The food here is amazing. The meat was so tender you didn't need a knife. The service is super friendly and polite. The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming. We have nothing bad to say about this place. It's about 35 minutes from our house but so worth the drive! We will be back!

It was delicious! I love that a BBQ restaurant offers pizza. The selection of toppings was pretty amazing! Staff is attentive but don't hover. Very kind as well. Definitely recommend over & over!
