This is one of those hidden little places with the quality and flavor, tasty food.
If you’re not looking for it you’ll drive right by it but, worth the stop.
Hand Made Corn Tortillas. If you crave hand made tortillas, this is the place to go.
They sell them by the pound at just under three dollars, rather than by the dozen which surprised me at first. Then I realized I was buying the masa which they made into tortillas as I waited. You can't ask for fresher tortillas than that.
The place itself is a hole in the wall in a very run down neighborhood. Not a restaurant at all, just a little store and tamaleria.
I tried several of their tamales and liked the cheese tamales, and the red chile beef tamales the best. I thought the green chile pork tamales were a bit dry.
They also sell many other Mexican products, including homemade candies, chicarones, and plenty more.
