My dearest BFF, I owe you a heartfelt apology. I have mocked and ridiculed the areas of Burbank and Glendale which you now call home, all because I thought that you were leaving Sawtelle and all its ramen glory for something far inferior.What you really did was go from great to greater, and Sweetsalt showed me in a single bite. You see, they have this Lavender Duck Confit Sandwich that drives me wild. The shreds of pulled duck are so tender they are unreal, and they have that just-right hint of gamey-ness that potentiates the lavender oil and honey inside. The gooey onions and goat cheese hit on so many levels, adding their smoother texture to a chewier ciabatta.
Slow but delicious. Visit often.
Delicious. I'm not a sandwich guy but Sweetsalt makes some killer sandwiches. Big fan of their Tomato Basil Soup + Grilled Cheese. I tried the guava pulled pork sandwich this weekend. Flavors were great but the bread to meat ratio was definitely off for a pulled pork sandwich. In any event, Sweetsalt is always a good experience.
adorable place to have brunch in toluca lake. when we come here, we usually order the shrimp po’ boy. its not like your average shrimp po’ boy (ya know, the deep fried shrimp kind). this one has cajun shrimp with crumbled chips and a great spicy aioli. woo!
We're talking about a nice feeling, nice looking place, started by a Top Chef Alum, and serving...well, the basics. A salad, but a really good salad, a really tasty salad. A sandwich, but a really good sandwich.
The place has a rustic (damn, there’s that word again) charm to it. The decor reminds me a bit of Daisy Mint, in that we seem surrounded by Woodblock and half the items listed in the Restoration Hardware Catalog. The place fools you a bit (it certainly fooled me). It’s not a sit down and order place. Now, it’s based out of Counter Service. Kinda like Zankou Chicken, only nicer. More...pleasant.

Delicious! Rely enjoyed my Mexican mocha. My friends said the bacon, eggs and hash were yummy. And the sweets were thoroughly enjoyed! Very nice staff, too!
I really feel like you get what you pay for that sweet souls. Generous portions great value and always farm fresh to table. The entire kitchen staff cares about the quality of the food and it's clear in the presentation and flavor. Sweet salt in my humble opinion you're ready to expand to Pasadena, Silverlake and beyond!
