Stopped in while we were in town for a weekend as it was conveniently located across the street from our hotel (Custom Hotel). I would ikely walk right by this place as it doesn't look very inviting from the outside. Looks a bit like a drive bar from the outside, not much curb appeal but when you walk in it is dark (during the day), clean, pleasant, lots of TVs, and good food. Service way good and they had a good crowd of customers, most of which were also having food also.

The buffalo cauliflower appetizer was delicious! The best I've had. The cauliflower were big chunks and still had some nice body to it. Plus they were not overly battered. The buffalo chicken wings were nicely sauced. U got the playa chicken sandwich. The chicken it seemed was good but could have been juicier. I got a side salad. I must say I was impressed that the salad had garbanzo beans. It was a nice spring mix. My bf got the tri trip sandwich. Again I thought the meat could have been juicer. But the rolls on both sandwiches were delicious! They had a nice chewy texture. I also got the spicy margarita.... it was ok. But I will admit i'm not much of a drinker. The service was cool. But I have heard Tompkins will be closing down soon as it was bought out by the owners of Cinco the bar. So enjoy it while you can.

Hands down the best steak in the state (flat iron steak) at the very least. After being through 13 states in three weeks, this is the single best steak me and my father had had. Salted caramel cheesecake was also top notch!
Place doesn't look like much on the outside, but believe me: What effort they have not put on the outside decoration is more than adequately rewarded in the brilliant food they serve. Service was also absolutely brilliant; not too pushy, but you felt you were very well taken care of - a level of service that is a very delicate tightrope to achieve and maintain.
Going back tomorrow for sure!

I loved this little spot. Went with a girlfriend while in California and we had a blast. Its small but the people are super friendly. There is a small dance floor if you feel like dancing. They also a kitchen if you wanted to order food.

More bar than grill when I'm there, but still a good local spot. Drinks are fine, with a focus on the basics. Don't expect something on the hipster cocktail culture spectrum, more workaday drinks for a decent price. Beer list is fine, for the better macros and a few good craft selections. Food is fine, good burgers, maybe a bit pricey, but nothing crazy.
Parking lot is usually full, but try a block up on Manchester.

To my readers and friends, Tompkins is a fun spot to catch the game, grab a couple beers or just meet up with friends. The beer selection is pretty great with local brews on tap (a personal preference). The service is really good as well, the servers are polite and fun to interact with and keep you updated on the status of your food in case of delay. Also, trivia night is a blast, definitely recommend trying your hand at it. Grab your friends and head to Tompkins.
