Best Girl

I love coming to Best Girl. It feels like you discovered a little gem that hasn't been tainted by hype. The staff is cool and friendly and all that. And the food is pretty tasty too. I feel like Best Girl is one of those places that I'd like to visit every once in a while when I want to escape the hustle and bustle of LA.

This is definitely a great little spot to meet up with someone or grab a quick bite the eat. The atmosphere is very intimate inside and out. I sat inside as it very less intrusive than seating outside on Broadwat with so many passengers. They do offer valet parking. The menu is a little pricier. The drink menu is decent as most of cocktails are between $12-$13. And they have pretty great customer service as our waitress was very attentive.

Sadly too often overlooked. The food is wonderful. The cocktails are mediocre but the food is fresh bright and tasty. The space is a bit loud and cramped but it works. The service is polite accommodating and helpful. Although it is extremely annoying that staff is dress "hip" so it is impossible to know works is my only real gripe. Happily that staff is wonderful once you know who works there. I certainly plan to return.

I took my girlfriend to Best Girl on this past Friday, 4/12/2019, our two-year anniversary. When I made the reservation, I mentioned that fact in passing, and boy did they embrace it upon our arrival. Once we were seated, the manager, Donnie, came over and introduced himself, acknowledged he knew we were celebrating and gave us complimentary glasses of champagne. He didn't stop there, he personally proceeded to act as our server for the evening. He was very thorough in explaining the specials and answering other menu related questions. The meals that my girlfriend and I selected were extremely tasty and well presented. I enjoyed the ambiance of the restaurant, it's more upscale diner motif, quirky yet cool pencil style sketches on the walls, and the industrial-type ceiling fixtures such as the ventilation piping. I am so pleased to find this gem of a location in DTLA. At the conclusion of our meal, Donnie asked us if we'd like to visit the rooftop bar called Upstairs. He escorted us up, while giving us a brief description of the property. When we got there, he introduced us to the bar's manager, Eric, who seamlessly continued the gracious hospitality. Being a chilly spring night, he sat us at a comfortable bench and table right next to the fireplace. It was a cozy setup, and the trees had whimsical faux ribbons woven through branches. It was a great evening and I'm looking forward to going back.
