As a vegan, it can be rather difficult finding food that is strictly vegan and tastes delicious. That’s why I’m grateful for restaurants like Rahel Ethiopian Vegan Cuisine. I ordered the tofu stew which I finished before I thought to take a picture of it; it was just that good! But I did remember to take a picture of Rahel’s vegan strawberry cake. It’s delicious! Definitely check out Rahel Ethiopian Vegan Cuisine, you won’t regret it!

We are vegan and GF, so this place was perfect for us! Service was great and fast. Food was very affordable. We got the vegan feast for 2 and only had to make one substitute since the sambusa is not GF. So we added the chickpea stew to our plate, and everything was amazing! It was also very filling but did not feel heavy. Would definitely return and recommend this restaurant.

So a huge plus eight away: all is vegan. Not a huge suprise because the name sad so. But my vegetarian combo missed these spicey and very unique Ethiopian flavour. I’m from DC and there I tried more then half of the restaurants so you can trust me. Nice location and friendly service but there is something special in the taste missing.

Pretty nice place. First time we had Ethiopian food and happens to be vegan. The Tibs are pretty nice and also the 11 item feast (nice way to try many small dishes). Some of the items of the feast were a bit boring and others flavorful. The Ethiopian coffee was my favorite item, pleasantly surprised

If you like delicious healthy food, Rahel cannot be missed! I've been coming here for 8 years and the quality has remained consistently high. The food is always amazingly tasty and lovingly prepared. The restaurant employees are kind and attentive. I always look forward to my visits here. Make sure to get a platter to share, so you can try everything!

While we were in LA in June 2023, we were looking for some vegan food and came across Rahel. This was surprising because that is the first Ethiopian vegan restaurant I came across. We all thought this place we have to go to since its vegan (we are all vegetarians and this is perfect because we do not worry about any cross-over of mixed spoons or flavors from meat dishes to vegetarian dishes plus all of the sauces would be vegetarian friendly ). Just to be sure I also asked a friend who resides in LA about this restaurant and he said this is his go-to place for ethiopian food ! Food - We were a group of 6 and 1-2 people had not had ethiopian food before plus they also had other dietary restrictions (no onion or garlic). The owner of the restaurant was so gracious as she said she could ask the chef to make couple of the dishes without onion & garlic. Since ethiopian food is all about sharing we ordered couple of combination platters - Veggie Paradise combo special, Hudade Special combo and couple of side orders and soup plus extra injera. They were bringing the injeras warm/hot so we could enjoy with all the various stews and vegetable dishes. We also asked them to make couple of dishes spicy. Overall the food was good as expected but we probably had ordered too much food as we had some left overs. Unfortunately we could not take it as there was no refrigerator space in our hotel room. Since we did not have room for dessert we decided to try the Ethiopian coffee ceremony. If you have not tried this you should and I will not give away all they do here (keep some mystery) but the coffee was amazing. The coffee is only served black - no milk. Except for my eldest brother, we do not normally drink black coffee but we all ended up drinking this coffee - not one cup but couple of cups. Its pretty strong coffee and to be fully transparent couple of folks in our party could not readily go to sleep; it did not impact me as I slept normally. Service - The owner was really nice and we were able to have a nice conversation with her as she was explaining how she decided to make her restaurant vegan and she also made suggestions on what we may like. We have had ethiopian dishes before but there were couple of new items in this menu. The rest of the service staff was also very friendly and constantly came to our table to ask if all was ok and if we needed anything. Ambiance - some ethiopian artifacts, pictures and table pieces to give it the ethiopian feel. Coffee ceremony was also uniquely ethiopian Rahel - thank you for a nice meal and experience. I think we were there for 2+ hours

Yummy food! The portions are really big. We ordered so much and couldn’t finish lol Definitely get a cup of coffee for a nice ending to the feast. The service is also excellent. 5 stars!

It’s been awhile since I’ve had Ethiopian and I’m so glad I made it here. We ordered the combination of 10 items and it was more than enough food for 2 people! I loved the lentils and cabbage, and the injera was delicious. This is definitely feel-good food.

Fantastic flavors and very fast, accommodating service. Ethiopian food is some of my favorite and it's by far the most delicious kind of vegan food you can get. I got the lunch combo and it filled me up to the brim. Highly recommend the tea as well.
