At one of the Top LA restaurants in LA
Esdras Ochoa has outdone himself again!
Known for their unique flavors and comida a las brasas along with hand-made corn and flour tortillas.
Had a few "Chevalas" (michelada + shot of mezcal) it's amazingly exquisite & fresh along with their premium and authentic chavelas that are so lacking in Los Angeles.
Prominent and appetizing cuts of all meats. The ambience is a cross between an Old majestic Guadalajara village meets Frog-town's hipster scene.
La comida es de muy buena calidad y divina. Los aguachiles son superiores a otros lugares conocidos.
Toda su comida está deliciosa y tortillas de
Harina y maíz hecho a mano.
Las mejores micheladas y chavelas en Los Angeles están aquí.
A delicious succulent medium rare Hangar steak with frijoles accompanied with a good chunk of an oozing tasting pork belly.
The vegetarian beet plate (Tierra) has a nice flavorful note with equal components of spicy pistacho, goat cheese, blue cheese and mint.
El pollo con papas is so luscious & mouthwatering with a slightly sweet citric flavor. The fries is also a big part of it and not an after-thought.
At Salazar you will be treated like family and it will be such an unforgettable experience.
Salud y provecho.
[100000216288137:Joanna Manansala] and I had brunch there yesterday Sunday and we loved it so much! The eating area, which is outside, was gorgeous, cozy, and quaint! The staff were all very kind to us! We had the Stumptown Nitro Cold Brew coffee with coconut horchata, and it was delicious and the best cold brew I ever had! I ordered the Carne Asada Milanesa, and the country fried steak was just packed with a very bold umami flavour and a tender texture that went great with my sunny side up eggs, even if the eggs themselves were a tad overcooked! My girlfriend ordered the Mushroom Frittata, and off the bat the kale was scrumptious and almost sweet, perfect topping over the decadent frittata! Highly recommend this place!
This was a great find! The food was the best, wait staff was quick and good, and we all loved it. You have to find a parking spot, as there's no lot, but it's worth it. We had the burritos, tacos, chips and salsa and guacamole, horchata, esquites, and everything was completely delicious. The terrace dining was pretty and it was a great place.
Made reservations for a large party for a Sunday brunch. Table was ready with all the place settings and water set-up upon arrival. All the tables are outside, but they're nicely covered with a metal roof and umbrellas at each table. There's also trees and greenery to provide natural shade and the openness allows a natural breeze.
I believe our server was named Freddy and did a great job taking care of our party of 12. He was very friendly, always ensured glasses were full, and empty dishes removed. We ordered everything family style, so ordered large quantities of everything from appetizers, meals, and desserts. For our drinks, Juston was working the bar and made many creative drinks. We asked him to make some creative drinks and he did not disappoint. He catered to everyone's preferences and every drink was impressive.
All the food was good and served in generous quantities. I personally enjoyed the tacos and churros, but others had their personal favorites. Overall, good food, great drinks, and exceptional service.
The friends and I had an great experience at Salazar on a Saturday evening before catching a show at Zebulon next door. We ordered and thoroughly enjoyed the Al Pastor (pork) + pescado (beer battered fish) tacos 🌮, chips/guac/salsa, and ordered drinks. I loved my Lonely Hearts Club Soda and my friend enjoyed his Prickly Pear, although it was supposed to be slush and came melted instead of slushy. It was a cool outdoor restaurant with a nice atmosphere. I would come back.
Salsa for the pollo tacos were good with the bold flavor dancing on my tongue (habanero pumpkin seed salsa)
Homemade flour tortillas where perfect in flexibly & strength.
The el pastor taco needed no help it was delicious the guajillo salsa was not spicy at all added nice flavor but I thought it need a hint of a kick to add to the flavor game.
Spiked horchata was decent but wouldn't get it again, although the nuttiness was unique.
Margarita flight was fun, I'm not a mezcal fan but the watermelon Margarita was definitely worth ordering. The gentle sweetness of the watermelon mixed with the smokiness of the mezcal was something special.
Restroom was clean
All seating is outside which is nice when the weather works for ya.
Arguably best tacos in all Los Angeles! Def the Al pastor is to die for.
The tortillas were amazing they were very soft and melted in your mouth. I got the chicken taco and the fish taco they had amazing flavor! Great place! Highly recommend.
I got the hanger steak done rare and loved it. The guacamole was very fresh tasting. The flan was outstanding but the bread pudding was too dry for me.
I loved this place! Loved the outdoor ambiance and the cool breeze. The staff was friendly. We had virgin watermelon and yellow peach drinks, they looked good and tasted good. The guac and chips were very tasty. The pastor taco was so good. They lay out a nice spread for all your tacos to shine under the camera. Great place for friends gathering.
I had mocha tacos chips. Guacamole salsa ended delicious angel flight drink I recommend it for everyone
It’s an okay restaurant for “Americanized” Mexican food. Tacos were okay but salsa was not even mild and not enough for Mexicans or people who likes spicy food. The place is interesting but not sure how hot it gets on hot summer days or clod winter and windy days as it is fully outside. The day I went had a nice weather day mid 80’s.
