Love the people, the food, the fact that the music room is actually a "listening" room with a very good sound system, love sound guy Jorge Sanchez – only thing missing for my guests and audience is service in the room for drinks.

The food and service are really good; I totally recommend it. I'm from Venezuela, and it reminds me of Venezuelan Chinese food. Portions are generous, so you can enjoy a great family-style meal with friends and family. Additionally, they have a small area where people sing, so it's cool that the restaurant supports local artists.

I will agree with many other reviews in that the food is good, but not great. However given it’s history, it’s been open since 1983 in the Fairfax District, and how well known it is around LA, I feel it’s important for any local to visit at least once. They have a fairly large free parking lot attached too so parking is refreshingly easy. They have a live stage show area attached to the building, and there was a punk show just starting as we were sitting down to eat, but they do a good job with noise management so we didn’t hear them. I really enjoyed the all red interior and red lanterns hanging from the ceiling because they both added to the mood and really made you feel like you had been transported to another decade. We had to wait about 10mins after arriving on time for our reservation to sit down, but our wait was very nice and did a good job. For our meal we chose a few classic starters and two of our favorite traditional Chinese entrees. To start we ordered the New York Style Eggrolls (they were pretty good although I wish the shell was crispier and there was a larger meat to veggie ratio), Cream Cheese Wontons (these were great, however pretty small and only came with 4), and the Skewered Beef (probably my favorite starter because it had the classic flavor that I am used to). For our entrees we chose Mongolian Beef with Broccoli added, and Orange Chicken. We enjoyed both and would order both again, however we both have had other better versions around town. Overall a good, historic, Chinese restaurant and venue in the Fairfax District. It also was very lively so would be a fun place to have a dinner and/or catch a show.

Really good food and reasonable prices. Spring rolls are amazing. Service was not consistent but it was great cause we had no reservations and the wait wasn’t horrible even though the place was packed. I’ll definitely go back

Not only was every dish delicious (turkey minis potstickers, Beef chow fun, queen chicken and szechaun green beans) and the szechuan marg delightfully spiced/not too sweet, but our server Andrew made it such a fun evening. Ty for sharing your birthday with US, Andrew, we had such a great time and hope to come back soon. 10/10. those szechuan green beans are final meal material.

This place is a staple in LA. Amazing Jewish Chinese food. The atmosphere is so cool. Sitting at a booth with friends. Friendly service. The NY Egg rolls are a must! Be aware of the spicy mustard lol just a little. The Orange Peel Chicken and Orange Crispy Beef are bomb! I always order Lo Mein and sometimes their dumplings. Definitely check this place out if you’re craving Chinese food

I've been going to Genghis Cohen since 1990 and I've always loved this place. I've never ordered anything that wasn't great. Every time I come, I always dine in the restaurant( as opposed to take out) so the food is always top tier( piping hot, huge family style portions). We ordered the Mabu beef, orange peel chicken, fried pork dumplings, combination fried rice and beef lo mein( the Cracker Jack shrimp and duck are out of control as well. We didn't order it this time but I've had it before.) As far as cocktails go, we definitely had a handful of the Szechuan margaritas. Cocktails are always great( balanced and strong) service was amazing. The vibe/ ambience is unmatched( you'll definitely want to take photos for your social media). If you're looking for authentic New York style Chinese with a dope vibe, this is your spot.

NYC style Chinatown staples at West LA prices — but somehow worth every cent. Vibe inside is immaculate, from the red leather booths to the hanging lanterns. And like any great Chinese food menu, there are way too many options. But one cannot go wrong with classics like mu shu pork, orange chicken, and walnut shrimp. Don’t sleep on their cocktail menu either, the lychee martini is especially tasty. Will be back to catch a show with our meal next time!

I can only speak to the bar and stage as I didn't eat here but it looked and smelled delicious and the place was jumping on a Tuesday (always a good sign). The band, The Nude Party, was fantastic! I think they were a little too big for the size of the venue. That might also explain the long waits at the bar. Slightly spendy drinks, but I'd still visit again.

Queen Chicken and amazing Hollywood vibe with their own free parking lot. My family has been coming here for 30 years and will continue for many more. Great music and comedy venue too, but separate from the restaurant experience

Delishionaness awaits! Hugo is the best and deserves a well earned pay raise. Upon inquiring him on the menu iteams and his suggestions he paused and smiled. The little pause! priceless! EVERYTHING is good here I tried and loved the entire menu he said. Hugo,my friend, that's inaccurate for It is great! I picked up lunch for both my good friend and I. It was refreshing to both my senses including sent and taste. Amazingly and Deliciously pleasant and my taste buds speak on the truth, fact!
