I recently dined at the Pacific Dining Car Steakhouse and was impressed with the quality of their steaks. The meat was cooked to perfection and had a melt-in-your-mouth tenderness. The ambiance of the restaurant was also noteworthy, with its elegant and inviting atmosphere. The staff was attentive and friendly, adding to the overall enjoyable experience. I would definitely return for another delicious steak dinner.

Two weeks ago I posted my experience that wasn't pleasant at all. After being contacted by PDC General Manager, we were invited back as their guest and i must say we showed up and they SHOWED OUT! our service was impeccable as I previously experienced and I just want to thank their entire staff for accommodating us and regaining our trust as customers. We will be back in December to celebrate my fiance's birthday.
This is an amazing restaurant. Open since 1921 and family run for 4 generations. There is history here. You can also get a steak and some lobster bisque at any hour if the night that will rival most dinner dining restaurants. Service is great and you always feel welcome. When the club is out this is where I want to go.
An iconic Los Angeles restaurant that's been around for 98 years! Really good food and an amazing atmosphere. Just picture the celebrities sitting there in the 30's, 40's, 50's. It's a high end, classic restaurant, but if you want to check it out without spending a ton, hit them up late at night. They are open 24 hours and their late night menu includes fabulous sandwiches that will fit your budget! Love this place!
I remember this restaurant quite well, was very surprised when I found out it had permanently closed it’s doors. I remember only elite people coming to eat here regularly, would come here at least once a week. Service was on point, and the food was very delicious.
Our server, Jaime, was fabulous! He was a wealth of information about the restaurant and the history of the area, accommodated our food allergies, celebrated my birthday and took care of our special requests. The scone was large, hot from the oven and delicious. Jaime brought a large piece of cheesecake with fresh strawberries, blueberries and mint leaves and he and another lovely man sang Happy Birthday, it was very nice! Sadly, the toasted bread for the sandwiches were tough and hard to eat, the cakes for our dessert were frozen and the desserts over all were bland.The neighbourhood the restaurant is located in is scary, but once inside, it is a taste of old world elegance. There are many quaint touches in the different "cars" that were fun to see. But, what it comes down to was Jaime made it completely enjoyable, he was a gem, they are lucky to have him!
I had the pleasure of eating at the Pacific Dining Car for the first time recently and it was fantastic! I was lucky enough to get a reservation for their anniversary special which features an 8 ounce "baseball" steak for 98 cents for their 98th anniversary of business and I feel like I won the lottery. The steak was perfect 👌. I had a wilted spinach salad appetizer which had figs and candied walnuts with a basalmic vinagerette that was amazing. Old school joint that exceeds expectations 👍
Went for the baseball steak special. Had a wonderful dinner, the steak was delicious. Shared the wedge salad, it was really good, one of the best I've had. Also had the Roquefort mashed potatoes and were also very good and creamy. The side is an easy sharable side among 3-4 people. Walking into the PDC throws you back in time in LA, it's a great place for date night. Shared a bottle of wine and had a very memorable evening.
Unbelievable that nobody stepped up to save this icon. Some of the best steaks and service i’ve had were here. One of the last classic steakhouses in LA. Sad.
An exceptional meal! We really enjoyed everything they had to offer. This is a great opportunity for a romantic night out!
Best filet mignon I've ever had. It melts MELTS in your mouth. Service is always spectacular, and I've never had a "just okay" dish here - everything is consistently top notch. Wine lovers will not be disappointed either. Pick anything from any menu at PDC; you will be happy with your choice(s)!!!
Classic old school restaurant with the highest standards, find food and impeccable service! Dine and relax in style in an old-time dining car, it's worth every penny of it!
One of the best breakfast I’ve ever had. Great service, the steak was delicious, and it was a nice, quiet atmosphere. I’ll be back.
Even if I tried i could not think of one bad thing to say about this place. A wonderful steak and lobster. A very good risotto. The staff was very nice and attentive yet not bugging you. There's a reason you've been open for close to 100 years..it is that good.

Amazing place! Service was outstanding! Food flavorful and prepared to perfection! A bit pricey but worth every delicious penny!
Great food and service but expensive! It is cute decor inside. The bathroom didn't seem high end but they had actual towels to wipe hands. It just looks out of place with granite countertops and the tile on the floor looking like a shower floor. We came to on a Saturday with reservations and got a good deal lol.
The reason for the one star is the valet was super expensive. It is not like MacArthur Park is a pretty place and the outside building looks nice. Beware that if you order steak, you need to go up one notch, medium rare had blood oozing out. And my neighbor ordered medium well and it was more medium rare. They gave us a free amount of extra sides we ordered with our same steaks cooked longer when we had them sent back to the kitchen.
I love the food! I had the baseball steak with peppercorn . Had the risotto with mushrooms and a wonderful cheesecake dessert
This is an icon. Must remain open. Such a valuable piece of authentic Los Angeles history.
Absolutely delicious steak and lobster Mac and cheese. Great atmosphere that's open 24 hours a day 365 days a year. Incredible restaurant and staff.
